By covering the wide range of temperatures, the numbers are quite small. Throw in a little condensation and reading the thermometer becomes difficult . Well made - accurate (tested against another therm that was calibrated) In deep freezer screen does hold crystals You will need to find a way to hook it to a rack if you do not have a shelf or do not want it on a shelf Great deal!
