Highly recommended - These are a lifesaver - especially early in the year with a lot of pollen and fine silt from opening the pool, but I use them all season. I have cartridge filters that are prone to plugging, and they rarely plug in a full season when I use these filter socks in my strainer. They only last a few weeks, so you have to replace them, but they are plenty cheap enough to replace every week or so.
