Close to 25watts, not fully 25watts on my killawatts meter. It is small, and I mean small, the smallest aquarium heater I've have, but it work. Make sure you have the proper size tank for this, not too small, not too big, whatever the spec say, comply with it. For my purpose I use it for my 10 gallons aquarium and it work fine, very small, compare to my previous heater which no longer work, the orange light no longer lid up, I'm guessing it's dead, so I bought this one. How long will this last? longevity is the question, and I wish I could answer this, but only time will tell. My recommendation for proper installation if the direction didn't say so, put this in your aquarium for at least 15 minutes before turning it on, definitely do not turn this on when the heater is not submerge in water. ... show more

    • Great heater for nano tank
I've been using this 25W heater with a 5 gallon planted tank and so far it works great. I'd never used a fixed temperature device so didn't know quite what to expect. The quality of the heater and packaging is good, equivalent to others I've purchased in the past. I took care to put the suction cup clamp over the top (rubberized) section of the heater as instructed. The cup stuck to clean aquarium glass with no wobbling. During testing this has kept the aquarium water within 1-2 degrees of 78F. I've got good filter and flow in the tank and I think this has helped the temperature stay pretty constant. I'd definitely recommend this heater for a planted or medium-to-high flow nano tank. ... show more

Never ever I have had an aquarium heater that overheated the tank to the level everything inside got cooked alive. I thought that this heater would be perfect of my nano tank where I had a baby Beta fish, couple of snails and lots of freshwater plants. Everything was working very well until today morning when I logged in to work after feeding my beta fish. After sometime I noticed that the beta is not near the air stone where she is normally seen chasing the bubbles playfully. When I lifted the tank lid to peek in, I could feel that the lid was too warm to touch. Even though I disconnected everything and attempted to rescue the fish and snails, it was too late. I feel terrible for subjecting these poor creatures to such a cruel death. ... show more

i have this in my 5g shrimp aquarium and its so compact and tiny, it works great it maintains a 79f temp through any temp changes in my apartment, it brings it back upto temp very quickly when it does drop and doesnt take along time to do so,

I received a small heater for my 10-gallon tank and decided to test it after reading some reviews. Unfortunately, the product arrived completely broken, most likely due to inadequate packaging. The box did not contain any foam or molding to protect the item from impact, and the box itself was flimsy. Additionally, it was shipped in a flimsy bag. It's disappointing that the manufacturer didn't take proper precautions, especially for such a fragile product. ... show more
