I've had several different brands of wavemakers over the years they all pretty much do the same thing, move water. I got the smaller of the 2 and it's currently running in a spare liverock .tank. I'd say 75g is the max I'd go with if you have just one. Time will tell how long it will last as these usually only last a year or 2 in my experience, but for the cost you camt go wrong with these budget friendly water movers. ... show more

It works, and honestly I can't even hear it running. It's only been installed a few days, but so far it's working perfectly. I was worried about stress from too much flow, but that wasn't the case. They actually enjoy playing in the stream. Watching them play in it was just an unexpected bonus.

The bad: This wavemaker is not very powerful (-1 star). It may move 3,400 gph, but due to the larger size of the fan itself it sacrifices water output velocity (not a strong forward current). Secondly, it is rather annoying that when selecting any mode (power, time, setting) you must click through all of them to get the controller to start in the opposite direction (-1 star). The good: It is easy to link the wave makers and I love this function. The sleek design looks good in the tank (much better than my other bulky suction wave makers). There is a pause button for feeding time (which is nice, I use that function for when I want a top down look on the tank and want the flow to stop). I bought the 3400gph model expecting that amount of flow. It is nowhere near that and basically about as much as a small powerhead. When you convert 3400 liters it's about 1280gph which is about what this thing looks to be. Not sure if this is just a mistake by amazon or deceptive marketing. I added a couple of stars because it's quiet and works well, just don't expect to see the flow rates listed here ... show more

We bought 4 of these. 2 stopped working 30 days after purchase. Hmmmm convenient. Now the ither 2 are dead as well. Didnt last. Dont waste your money.

Great wave maker for the money, with lot more features than popular brand that I have used. Only problem is after 1 and a half month, the bluetooth stop working and then a week later pump stop working.
