It's pretty quiet and is functional to heat a small room. Our cats enjoy the heat output. It was easy to set up, all I had to do was unbox it and plug it in. The remote control is perfect and makes using it so we simple. I found the middle speed and more dim settings look most realistic, but it's not hyper realistic and anyone who looks at it for more than a moment will probably be able to tell it isn't real. I got this as a replacement for my old one and it's such a wonderful upgrade. This fireplace looks lovely and gives my living room a cozy cozy feeling. It gives you a ton of control over how much light/heat/flickering you get. The controls are hidden away on the side of it, so you don't see them from the front. This fireplace insert is very nice and sturdy and very well made. The heater does a fantastic job at heating up the entire (fairly large) room pretty quickly. What I love most is that this fireplace is virtually silent and doesn't produce any weird hum like my old my did. I also appreciate finally having a remote control which was not the case with my old fireplace. I am VERY happy with this purchase and I wholeheartedly recommend it to others. ... show more

We love this fireplace. It was super easy to setup and use right out of the box. You can attach it to the wall or recess it into the wall. It is super quiet but puts out a lot of heat. The media could not be loaded. I bought this for my actual fireplace. We live in Florida and don’t turn on the heat ever. Got this for the look and in a pinch use to heat up the living room. There is an option to turn off the heat and just have a nice ambiance. When you want hear it does put out nice heat and has different levels. The light on the logs is dimmable as well. The only thing I disliked about this product is that it kept getting delayed, but I suppose that has more to do with the Amazon strikes than anything else. Otherwise, as I said, it's exactly as described. It looks even better with our grate up and emits just enough heat that it's not overbearing. Received this today. My brother in law and my sister wanted this item item. The fireplace was thought to have sound of crackling fire. Nothing of that kind with this model. No sound. Price was good. Ordered a different one with all the features of a real fireplace but it's electric. Nice idea to have fire imitation even in a real fireplace. Price was ok. Realistic flame.
