🚀 Abunda's Overview

This is our summary and key points to consider based on customer reviews.

The Aiper Seagull Pro Cordless Robotic Pool Cleaner is highly acclaimed for its excellent cleaning capacity. Reviewers praised its ability to clean both the bottom and the sides of a pool effectively, leaving it cleaner than ever. On automatic settings, it operates systematically, though its performance can diminish over time. Moreover, the battery life often extends beyond the advertised duration.

Pros

  • 👍 Excellent cleaning efficacy.
  • 👍 Able to clean both pool sides and bottom.
  • 👍 Longer battery life than advertised.
  • 👍 Easy to clean basket system.

Cons

  • 👎 Can struggle to manoeuvre past obstacles in the pool.
  • 👎 Gets stuck on drain quite often.
  • 👎 Unsystematic cleaning patterns in certain modes.

Should I Buy It?

If you are in search of a pool cleaner that effectively cleans both the bottom and sides of a pool with longer than advertised battery life, the Aiper Seagull Pro might be the perfect fit for you. However, its tendency to get stuck on drains and somewhat random cleaning patterns in certain modes may require additional attention from the users. In summary, it's generally worth buying if you don't mind occasional babysitting.

  • Awesome pool cleaning robot!
For starters, it looks awesome and very well built, good quality materials - I can’t say the same of the Aiper electric handheld pool vacuum. It feels as if it is a different manufacturer. It runs close to the 3 hours it is rated for in my pool which is NOT a simple, flat, rectangular pool. The floor cleaning is not as efficient. It seems it cleans the center area of the pool many more times than the outer areas. The wall climbing is spectacular. The programmed pattern is flawless. However, it cannot handle a corner in my pool which is less than 90 degrees. It just gets stuck in that corner - it cannot make the turn. The suction power and the filter seem optimal, since it does catch even fine sand that I didn’t know I had in my pool. The knob to program the different modes, is easy to use, but difficult to see in bright light and the notch indicating the position of the dial does not align with the three mode options - not a deal breaker though. I had the robot for a few days. I’ll update later. I’m still considering whether I’ll keep it or return it given its failure to make that one corner - kind of a big deal. Update 5May23 - I returned the first one and got a replacement. The floor cleaning pattern has improved, somewhat but still feels a bit random. It doesn’t quite follow the S pattern consistently as it is supposed to. However, it probably cover most of the pool’s floor. I’m starting to think it does an adequate job at covering most of the pool’s floor, at least one time. Update 14May23 - I’ve continued to use it and I’m getting more confortable with its performance. It now did it several times where it was able to turn that problematic corner that I mentioned above. I love the fact that I don’t have it in the pool all the time, and I pull it out of storage to use it only when needed, such as after a storm blows a number leaves and other debris into the pool. Also, Vivían from Aiper support has been super-helpful. I now also own the Pilot H1 handheld vacuum which, while I still think it’s construction is not as good as the robot, it actually does the job that it was design for. I’m able to vacuum up any hard to reach areas of the pool that the robot does not get to. I have increase my rating to 4 stars. Update 18Aug23 - About 4 months using the robot, once weekly and it is still going strong. I love this thing. It does an excellent job. You do have to make sure when you launch it that you do it parallel or perpendicular to the wall for the most efficient cleaning. Also, it happened once that I noticed that the robot was failing to climb the walls. It seemed as if it was lucking suction power. I pulled it out of the water, went to empty the basket and noticed this very fine sand sticking to all the walls of the basket. That’s when I remembered that I had been cleaning the tiles with a pomice stone. Apparently the pomice “sand” clogs the filter and the vacuum looses suction power which results in being unable to climb walls. I cleaned up the basket, rinsed it several times - that pomice sand was sticking to the basket’s mesh - I had to scrub it to remove it. After a full charge, tested the robot and everything went back to normal - the robot was climbing up the walls as usual. So, if your robot doesn’t seem to have the power to climb the walls, check the basket filter - it may be clogged. Upgrading my review to 5 stars. Update 24Feb24 - It is now about 10 months since the purchase and the robot is still going strong. In case it wasn’t clear above, it does a great job at picking up leaves and everything else that may be in the pool. Loving it! ... show more

  • Not impressed
We recently bought a home with a large pool and instantly knew we needed a robot for cleaning help. We debated between this one and a seagull one but this was rated very well and was on sale over July 4th. Our initial thoughts were that we really liked this unit. It didn’t really do and “S” pattern internet he pool but picked up debris as expected and the fine mesh basket was even helping with the algae we were dealing with at the time. Run time is great and with a quick charge you can easily put it in and out of the pool several times a day if there’s a lot to clean up. 3 weeks after having it, the problems began. The robot started doing weird circles and the front wheels lifted up and down over and over like a bucking bronco. Next to nothing was being picked up off the pool floor and we’d watch as leaves and things scattered when the robot went over them rather than being pulled inside. I called aiper and was told that they would replace the unit and asked that I send a photo of the unit and order summary. Sent that the next day and then Got a second email later asking for video of the lights not working etc (which was never the issue). Can’t even send that video as The problem now is that since that initial call for support the dial to turn on and off the machine progressively became more difficult to turn and now is totally stuck and can’t even be used. Waiting for another response from the aiper team but in hindsight we should have just returned it to Amazon and went with a more expensive machine. Totally disappointed in the quality. ... show more

  • Work great for flat and gentle curves
We have an older fiberglass pool. We moved in two years ago and the pool had a wheeled creepy driven by suction if the pump. It was always getting stuck, clogged and barely worked. We have a big tree that drops needle leaves, pods and pollen all spring. I finally bought this because a review online said it handled big debris the best and we had a good sand filter for the finer stuff. Combined with a new automatic chlorinator, our pool is clean and blue every day. Pros: 1. No cords or hoses. Our old one was always getting disconnected by the kids and I really didn’t want an electrical cord coming out of the pool all the time. 2. Gets everything with a big basket. If I empty it every other time it runs, I’ve never filled it up even though it gets 5 to 10 pounds of debris. 3. Charges fast and runs fast. I wish I had a fancy self dock in my pool like my roomba, but at least I can pull it out of the pool in the morning and it will have charged in a couple hours, and I can put it in the pool with enough time to run it by the time kids are home from school. 4. Scrubbers clean algae of the bottoms well and any walls it can reach. Cons 1. Only get one run per charge. Even if I say floor only. Would like it if it ran half as long and I could get two runs. 2. Can’t navigate weird steps or walls at all. We have a weird half width step around 3/4 of the pool about a foot off the bottom. It’s annoying in general but it also means the clean never cleans the walls because it gets stuck. So I still do more wall sweeping than I’d like. Bonus Every time you drop it in, it’s like launching your own personal submersible probe, so that’s fun. Overall This was a lot to spend for something that I was new tech. I had an early roomba that was a pain and I was very worried. But we barely used our pool last year even after spending lots of time every week cleaning it. So I was desperate but couldn’t afford to build a new pool (or hire someone to clean our pool every day). So far this year we’ve been in almost every day since I got the cleaner. So that’s a big testament to how well it’s working. ... show more
