    • Great scan tool for the money!!
I was looking for an inexpensive scan tool for diagnosing my vehicles, there were a ton of them. I went with this one for the more option than the next step down. It is a little more but I felt it was worth the extra money. This is my first scan tool. I hooked it up to my 2003 Dodge grand caravan and it read all the codes I had from the check engine light being on. I was then able to email the diagnostic to my email address and the report came within a few seconds. I can't wait to try it out on my other 2 newer vehicles. On receiving the device I followed the instructions on updating it, mine was charged to 99% when I turned it on. I connected the wifi and it started downloading firmware updates and all the other updates related to other types of car models. I will say it took a while for the updated to download, I am guessing that it is the speed of the server It was coming from as I was only getting about 2MB/s on the downloads, it took a while for the updates to finalize and by that time the battery was down to 23 percent within a 35 minute span. Once it was all done I charged it back up and then tested my vehicle, it did another firmware update on connecting it to the vehicle which wasn't but 2 minutes, a few more updates for the dodge sections. Once connected to the car it will charge the scanner battery through the port so that was nice!!. I haven't tested much else on it but I will say I am satisfied with my purchase. The touchscreen works well and is bright and seems to cycle through the different setting rather quickly. The price dropped down another 20.00 since just last week so even a better deal, it also came with a TPMS tool for reprogramming the TPMS. ... show more

This was a much needed upgrade to my Launch CReader 3001 pocket scanner. As a DIY guy who often works on my cars, this scanner has been a great tool that I wish I had gotten sooner. I used this to read and clear fault codes on my 2018 Toyota 4Runner, and found that the oil light reset was an excellent feature that saved me from constantly googling how to reset the maintenance minder since I forget how to every time. I'm also looking forward to also using this to measure transmission temperature during an upcoming transmission fluid drain and fill - much easier than jumping DLC pins and deciphering a multitude of blinking lights on the dash. Those two features alone are worth it for me! I also tried this on a 2005 Honda S2000 that has been in long term storage to check I/M Readiness, avoiding an unnecessary trip to the inspection station only to fail because a few systems were not yet ready after the battery had died. Connecting this to wifi in order to update the software was also a breeze! No issues with battery life or connectivity so far. Touch screen is very responsive and software is simple to navigate as well! Definitely recommend this scanner for anyone who works on their own cars or even mechanic shops that do not need the most expensive and intricate diagnostic tools. ... show more

    • Some things you should know before you buy
I bought this for my 2014 Grand Caravan. I was having problems with the HVAC actuators calibrating after replacement and was hoping that a bidirectional tablet like this would run a program to fix them. Unfortunately, after you dish out $170 for the tablet, you have to update it a bunch then you have to pay around $40 every 12 months PER brand of vehicle if you want the software patches necessary to fix your vehicle. Now, this was great for locating the issues and great for battery testing, engine diagnostics, etc. But I was highly disappointed that I would have to pay so much per year when the description states that it can support all vehicles with updates. No mention of extra cost for software patches and updates. I returned it since it did not serve my purpose and most of the items can be taken care of with a simple obd reader ... show more

I have only used it a couple of times to reset codes on my wife’s jeep jk. And to troubleshoot ABS on My Avalanche. Already paid for it self. I'm just a redneck beer drinking mechanic…do a lot of cursing when i have to work on my autos….
