  • Best iPad I’ve owned
This is so far the best and most advanced iPad that I have ever owned. As a brief history I have owned the iPad mini 3 and the iPad 5th generation. The new A12 chip makes this iPad so fast and fluid and is honestly more power than I will ever need in my day to day use of this product. I love that this iPad has a fully laminated display it makes reading on it so much better and of course it eliminates that annoying air gap that is on the budget iPad 5th and 6th gen. Another of the great features of this iPad is the True Tone display that adjusts the display to the lighting conditions of the room your in. This makes it much easier on your eyes when your using the iPad and it’s effects are in my opinion most notable when reading. The battery life on this iPad is excellent and the A12 chip is to thank for that since it’s very efficient, with how much I use it I can go for days on a single charge though of course your mileage will vary based on use and other settings. The mini definitely falls into an odd market as it has the same specs as the new iPad Air just in a much smaller form factor, so I’d definitely recommend the mini if you’ve got an older iPad and want to upgrade without breaking the bank and don’t mind the smaller form factor or even prefer your iPads in a more portable form. Also if your looking to buy an iPad for the first time and you want one that isn’t exactly a budget model but at the same time you don’t want to spend the kind of money it takes to get a pro model then the mini 5 might just be for you. I’m in the camp of people that prefer this smaller form as it’s easier to port around and if you read books on it it’s not going to tire your arm out like the larger models. The mini definitely has a viable market even in 2019 and I believe is worth a look if your curious about how an iPad of this size compares to the much larger versions that Apple sells. ... show more

  • An Upgrade Worth the Wait- plus Apple Pencil. Yaaaaaa!
Style: Wi-Fi Size: 256GB Color: Space Gray
I am a die hard mini user. They are by far the best iPads apple makes, And I’ve had several iPads - I’ve had the pro, the air, Something with a number two in it , I think I even have the original two I think I even have the original pad. But nothing beats a mini...nothing. They are the perfect size to hold, I use it for work, for home..everything ... my entire life is on my mini . It even manages to get me lai..... never mind..let’s move on. I had the Mini 4, which is the model before the this, and it’s been four years since 4 was released. I had pretty much given up on ever getting a newer one or getting to use the pencil with it. But Apple made the world right again, and we got this one in the fall— what an amazing upgrade. Super fast, lots of storage great screen, and the pencil people — the pencil! Apple Pencil is absolutely the best accessory I’ve ever had for my iPads ever. I used to think that kind of stuff was stupid because you have a touchscreen, so what do you need a stylus for? But I learned fast that the pencil ain’t just a stylus, it takes your mini to a whole new level. I have a notebook that’s endless -ENDLESS- on my mini... it makes me so happy.. I can take notes till I die. The design of 5 is exactly like the 4, which I think it’s kind of strange that they didn’t do some sort of upgrade to that, but the inside is totally different- like I said .. just an amazing upgrade. If you’re like me, and you are a diehard mini user, get this baby, cuz you’re gonna love it more than you love your children. ... show more

  • Handy Device
I won't go into depth about what the iPad is. If you don't know by now, then I can't help you, but think of it as a big iPhone that does everything but make calls. You can download apps, text, email, use FaceTime, etc. I had an older iPad I finally donated to my daughter because I felt like the battery life wasn't so great. So my main questions became: what size iPad did I want to replace it? And what kind of processing power did I need? I use my iPad almost exclusively to read articles (NY Times, New Yorker). That doesn't require a big processor, so the iPad Pro was out. The mini was significantly cheaper than the regular iPad or iPad air. I worried it might be too small, but I think the size is ideal. If you have a Kindle, the size is comparable: easy to hold in one hand as you read. The images are crisp and clear. If you're already on the Apple ecosystem, then setup is a breeze. I think it took me all of five minutes. I love that I can start an article on my iPad and finish it on my phone, and vice-versa. I've found that Apple products always last a long time, so their price tag is justified. If you're considering an iPad, the tougher question becomes which type to buy. I think you need to analyze what you'll be using it for. One thing to bear in mind: you can generally expand the screen contents if you're having trouble seeing, but the print can naturally appear somewhat small on the mini. If that's a concern, go with something larger-screened. Overall, I think the iPad (regardless the type) can provide hours of entertainment and is well worth the price. I do wish the battery lasted longer, but I bet I go a week between charges, and naturally battery is going to drain when you're looking at a brightly-lit screen. ... show more

  • Amazing ipad. Small but mighty with clarity and features!
Very happy with it and cant wait to fully learn it as I am new to Apple. So this is adjustment for me. Looks sharp in color and sound and the facetime is WOW. So sharp and clear its like you are in front the person in real life! So unlike my android phone and snapchat video or fbk video messenger! It is a mini but MAN it is so clear colorful and sharp that its not bothering me so far (I am such a blind bat and need things so big haha). Also I LOVE the customizable settings for screen brightness and font sizes. More custom options than Ive ever seen in a device (I guess thats Apple for ya). Also NOTE this has the A12 chip! A must buy!!! Dont hesitate to get it if all u can afford is this size ipad! U will be very happy with it if u are new to Apple especially. ... show more

  • Preforms business apps well and battery life lets you work longer.
Style: Wi-Fi Size: 256GB Color: Space Gray
I’ve been putting off buying a tablet until I found one that suites my needs. The iPad mini 5 is that device. It’s battery life is prolific and coupled without a long recharge time will have you working or playing for hours. It’s small size, approximately 8” diagonally and 8” x 5” overall, is an asset without sacrificing screen size which is nice. Initially I worried about text size and color enrichment being diminished, but after using it for an hour these fears were allayed. Peripheral devices like mouse, keyboard and speakers hook up with ease. 256GB was a necessity for me since I opted for a carrier free iPad. My iCloud storage may make it a moot point but sometimes while traveling I don’t have time or WiFi to update and it’s nice to have that flexibility. Your preferences are easy to change depending on what you’ll use this device for such as brightness, screen time etc. I’m perhaps in the minority when it comes to fingerprint ID rather than facial recognition software given recent developments with privacy. The iPad mini five is probably the last iPad to have the fingerprint ID in lieu of facial recognition which to me was a selling point. I prefer strategy games such as Sid Meier’s Civilization which this device is more than capable of performing with good sound and enriching colors. Bluetooth devices sync well such as gaming controllers. The Camera is better than my iPhone 6s but is still weak. Although this is not a huge selling point for me since I use this device primarily for editing photos for my business which it does very well. Overall the iPad mini 5 exceeded my expectations and I chose this device over other competitors for its nimble design without sacrificing performance. I’m glad Amazon ended it’s IOS device embargo as their price was better than Target, AT&T and Apple. ... show more

  • Alright, alright, you got me. I love it.
Style: Wi-Fi Size: 64 GB Color: Silver
I've always been pretty negative toward Apple products, based on both personal experiences with the brand and the usual perception of poor customization/connectivity options. So imagine my frustration last week when I went shopping for a new Android tablet to use as a secondary computer/eBooks/gaming on the go, only to find out that Android tablets are pretty much garbage in 2019 with laughably outdated specs and withering support from Google. After searching and searching, I finally realized that iPad was the ONLY option with the exact price/performance ratio I was looking for so I swallowed my pride and ordered it. And now I'm glad that I put my prejudice aside, because it's an awesome piece of tech. The screen on this thing is just gorgeous and worth the money alone. The high pixel density, TrueTone and small form factor make this the comfiest eBook reader I have ever used. The selection of apps and games is great, and I feel like there's a lot more "premium" options than you can find on Google Play. Battery life seems to live up to its promises, with mine only down to 58% with the screen active for about 7 hours. It also charges insanely fast. The lack of Android-level customization is real, but I can appreciate the whole "it just works" philosophy of iOS. Especially since my primary device is a Windows 10 PC on which something seems to stop working every other day. Very smooth, very polished UX that feels like a truly optimized tablet experience, and not just an oversized phone. The only real complaint I have so far is the thing's sometimes unintuitive reliance on gestures and precise swipes. I shouldn't have to give the screen a massage every time I want to do a simple thing like view and close apps I'm not using. But overall, it has absolutely met my expectations. Hopefully Apple continues to develop the Mini line, because I can see it permanently becoming my go-to tablet. ... show more

  • Great replacement for me and motivation to pickup hobbies again.
Style: Wi-Fi Size: 256GB Color: Space Gray
I used to have an ipad mini before replacing it with an ipad 9.7' pro a few years back. However, recently my pro was stolen, and I was never able to recover it. I had been thinking for a while on replacing it. Despite odd preferences people have, I actually do like the button and bezels on the ipads, so I was a little bit disappointed the new pros only came in the 11 and 12 in models with smaller bezels and more screen (I don't need a huge screen as I've got my computers for that). Also, I like to play games and draw on my iPad, so Apple Pencil capability was important. I saw that the new iPad mini 5 2019 model was cheaper than the Pros, but still had some of the newer processors and components (it has the same almost identical features as the bigger iPad Air model) and is Pencil compatible. So, I got the 256gb space gray iPad mini. One thing to check by the way and the only mark down with my experience, was that when I received my package, the plastic wrap on the box said 256gb space gray, but the actual item itself was the basic 64gb silver (So be sure to double check you have the right item!). I immediately raised a ticket and this was all sorted out thankfully. Also, sometimes in the beginning I get some stutter or delay/lag. I didn't know if this was due to my internet or the device itself just lagging a bit. Otherwise, I love the device as it's smaller and I didn't need the big screen so much anymore. Drawing is great and it's the perfect size of a smaller sketchbook, but still can draw fine zooming in and out if i have to. I do have a matte screen protector, so I can't attest to the glossy screen, as it does seem to dim the screen a bit (though it's still great and all the colors seem fantastic still). I also love reading on it as well as I no longer had to squint at my phone, or carry a bulky full sized ipad to read, as this is the perfect book size. I would definitely buy it again, and I'm actually thinking I might get it as a gift for my bf and family. ... show more
