I am not a connoisseur type coffee drinker but I do love a good cup of latte every morning. We have a full fledge Breville auto espresso machine as well as a Gevi. I must say that this Gevi has a richer and cremier crema and easy to use for less than a quarter of the price.

Full disclosure, I have never made espresso with a machine before getting this one. The set up was easy, and the booklet even more so, instructions are detailed with images, and clear, straightforward instructions with just enough extra information to explain why you want to do certain things. Great for someone who has never actually used a machine like this one! My first cup of espresso with steamed milk (still need to practice that part) turned out as good as you can find in any coffee shop, minus the fancy design on top. I did find some of the LED indicators a bit confusing and not intuitive, thought the knobs and parts are pretty straight forward. I like that the water reservoir actually lifts off and has a built in handle for this, makes it easy to refill and clean as needed. Quite a bit of this machine and its parts are plastic- it would be nice to have a metal tamper, but the plastic one that comes with this does get the job done without a problem. It would also be nice if it came with a steaming pitcher, but that is a minor note. I do like that this has a really small footprint on the counter, and doesn't take up a lot of space. I don't drink espresso every day, but I imagine if you are a heavy coffee drinker you will probably want to invest in something more robust than this machine. For the light and occasional drinker like me, this machine is great. Update to add- if you are looking for a coffee tamper that will work with this machine, it's smaller than average. You'll need one that is 49 mm or smaller.

This is my first time owning an espresso machine. By following simple instructions, using pre-ground espresso roast from a major grocery chain, using a coffee scale to measure the precise amount of grounds, and tamping it to what I think is appropriate based on recommendations, I've been able to consistently and easy produce beautiful espresso shots with rich crema that are the perfect temperature to slurp down right away (see first two images). I even managed to make my wife a latte (if that's what you call it), by steaming about ten ounces of whole milk and layering it into a mug with a double shot in it (third image). The top is unaesthetically pleasing, I know, but it tasted great, and she loved it. I had to borrow a stainless steel pot to steam the milk in, unfortunately. One of the things I don't like about this set is that they don't include a milk steamer. I get it, people probably already have one, or can get one, and it only raises the cost and takes up space, but still. For me, I drink it straight, but my wife likes milk in it. Anyway, the espresso shots are perfect. I have also made many shots using capsules. You can see one such endeavor in my fourth image. It does not come out nearly as good, so if you are looking to mostly use capsules, they are easy but they don't come out great. You get a little crema but not like with the ground beans. I've only tried one brand of capsule and the taste is so-so. It's a fairly good brand, I think. I guess you can't expect capsules to work as well as ground beans (the way it's supposed to be done). But it is super-fast and convenient if you don't have time or don't feel like measuring out the grounds. I would recommend this or one like it for those looking to get started with making espresso shots. I honestly can't imagine any machine doing better, so maybe I have something to look forward to, but for now I'm really, really enjoying these afternoon espresso shots.

The espresso machine is easy to set up and clean, and the instructions are user-friendly and uncomplicated. The machine powers up quick- an advantage when I need to get up and go. For someone who drinks 4-5 cups a day, I like that it gives me the option to make either a 1 or 2 cups of espresso at a time. I would highly recommend this machine for coffee lovers out there!

This little machine is great. it nice and slim, fits on the counter without taking up to much space. its super quick to heat and pull a shot or two of espresso. I liked it so much i bought a second one for my mother-in-law for Christmas.

My husband spent some time in Italy with the military and came to love espresso so I got him this machine to try to replicate the experience at home. This machine is great for home use, allowing you to make espresso in your own kitchen and play around a bit to find your perfect cup.
