Some reviews say lids are hard to get on, but it's not too hard. Just push the sides in, then up into the lid. The lids make it great for stacking to conserve space. The cubes, while there are a lot, they are tiny. I do wish I got ones that made bigger ice cubes since I fill multiple water bottles every day. We bought two sets of these back when a set of two trays was about $5, and, seeing now that, on sale, they're going for $10 - I want to tell anyone on the fence that we would GLADLY have paid way more than what we did. The silicone is good quality, the hexagonal shape of the compartments means there's plenty of ice for me (a big fat ice hog) and my partner per tray, and, as a bonus, they have LIDS, which means nothing will ever touch the ice that isn't meant to touch it. We had been buying bagged ice for god knows how long, and let me tell you these trays have paid for themselves a hundred times over, at least. I will say that they are a little fussy when you fill them and attempt to put the lid on, but I don't find it obnoxiously fussy. They will curl up when left to freeze, but if you stack them, with the freshly-filled tray on the bottom, it's not a problem. They're very easy to crack apart and extracting the ice from the tray is as easy as popping each piece out from the bottom. Super great for company. Pro buy, would recommend! ... show more

I bought these to make flavored cocktail ice cubes. They make cute little cubes which is great. I’ve never used silicon trays and these type have a couple disadvantages…1). They aren’t that easy to remove. I had to push each one out individually. 2). Carrying it to the freezer is hard because it’s so bendy and won’t stay flat. If you put it on a small cutting board it would go in flatter but who wants to do that? 3). The lid is hard to get on. So while the end result was good, they weren’t very convenient to use. ... show more

These are the best I’ve ever used. Like with any silicone product, there are gives and take. Pros: makes great ice, lid covers well, stackable for space saving. Con: must lightly run under water to free ice. In my mind, the con is minimal. If you don’t use HOT water, make sure it’s lukewarm, only a few seconds, it loosens the cubes enough to free them from the tray. This is an issue when freezing anything in silicon. I got two trays because my ice maker broke. These are slim and had covers. The covers don’t actually lock into place though. The cone size is obviously small but I didn’t want something bulky. The cubes were easy to get out of the silicone. My issue is that although the ice didn’t affect the taste of my drinks, any ice remaining after the beverage was gone had a bad after taste. We order them for the second time, it is very convenient to get the cubes. The lid is also silicone. P.S. We still use the previous forms bought a year ago, there are no problems with them. I want more ice for the summer😅

    • The lids DO fit

So many people complaining about the lids - they are all wrong. They ARE fiddly, as people say, but if you get them on properly and securely, they work as intended. You have to make sure that the edge of the lid is placed properly with respect to the edge of the tray - all the way around the perimeter. Once you figure it out, it is easier to make sure it is secure. I love these! If you can't or won't spend the extra time in filling and the extra time in dumping the cubes out, go buy traditional hard plastic trays. They are floppy and getting the lids on takes me an extra 30 seconds to a minute now that I know what I'm doing. Getting the cubes out absolutely does require pushing pretty much each one individually. I timed it - usually about 15 - 20 seconds for me. In my opinion, the extra time is worth it for piles of smaller cubes from trays that fit easily in a small space in my freezer. ... show more

The lid doesn't fit on ANY of the 4 trays I bought, and the flexibility of the tray caused much of the juice to be spilled when trying to place it in the freezer.
