- In order to protect the environment, 2 trash cans will be delivered in ONLY 1 package, one inside the other. Alkaline batteries are recommended for best performance. Carbon-Zinc batteries are not recommended
- After the AA battery is installed, the trash can is turned off. PRESS AND HOLD THE 1.5S POWER BUTTON TO TURN ON THE TRASH CAN. If the indicator light flashes red, the battery is low; please replace the batteries.
- To ensure the trash can works properly, keep a space of 23.6"/60cm above it clear of any items. Its not suitable for under desks or sinks.
- If the trash can's indicator light is solid blue, it is in "Always Open" mode. After entering "Always Open" mode for 1 min, the indicator light will turn off. Press the power button again to close the lid and switch to motion sensor mode. In Always Open Mode, The motion sensor is disabled. Just tap again to close and return to sensor mode.

This smart trash can has been a great addition to my bathroom. The size is perfect for small spaces, it fits right next to the toilet without taking up much room. These are nice little trash cans. I use plastic grocery bags in mine, and while they’re almost a little too big for the can, they actually work well—especially because of the removable inner ring. You place the bag over the insert, set it back inside, and it keeps the bag securely in place so it doesn’t slip down or look messy. That part is excellent design and makes using grocery bags super easy. Now let’s talk about the motion sensor lid. It works. Oh, it works. The Vanpopubs Automatic Touchless Trash Can uses infrared sensing technology with a 0.1-second response time. You’re supposed to just hold your hand above the sensor, it opens like magic, and then closes automatically after 5 seconds if nothing is detected. And to be fair…it absolutely does that. I would love to say it works great, but honestly, it might work a little too great. This thing is sensitive. Sensitive to what? I have no idea. Dust? Air molecules? Changes in the Earth’s magnetic field? Or possibly my bathroom is haunted by a ghost that is deeply committed to proper waste disposal. It sits in my completely dark, motionless bathroom with a door that is 3/4 of the way closed—no movement, no pets, no airflow—and suddenly… whirr… it opens. Then closes. Then opens. Then closes. Over and over. Just my extremely motivated trash can doing its thing for reasons known only to itself. For context, I’m one of those people who gets irrationally irritated by repetitive sounds. There’s actually a name for it—misophonia. Things like phone key clicks or chewing noises can drive me nuts. And now I can officially add “trash can opening and closing itself nonstop for no apparent reason” to that list. My bathroom is close to my bedroom, so when I’m trying to fall asleep, I get to enjoy the soothing nighttime soundtrack of open…close…open…close…open…close… like some sort of very polite but persistent robot. NOW… update to my review: apparently it pays to reread the description. You can actually disable the motion sensor by pressing the switch, which lets you keep the lid open or closed manually. This is great to know. Of course, that slightly defeats the purpose of buying an automatic touchless trash can—but it’s nice to have the option when the can decides to become overly enthusiastic about its job. All jokes aside, it’s genuinely a well-designed trash can. The size is perfect for a bathroom, the removable insert keeps bags secure, and the lid mechanism is fast and smooth. The motion sensor works extremely well—arguably too well—but now that I know I can turn it off when needed, we’re on much better terms. Overall: great little can, excellent bag-holding design, and a motion sensor so dedicated to its job it may actually have a personality.

Very good quality, good price. The batteries last a while. Only thing is that sometimes lid opens by it self. Sometimes takes a couple tries to open. Also is compact for small bathrooms. But otherwise good and recommend to others if you want something higher looking but still cheap!

I love these trash cans!! These are perfect size for small spaces, stylish and blend in so well with decor, hold a lot for their size, lid stays closed to hide your trash unless motion activated to put something in it, sturdy, easy to wipe clean and the perfect color that matches anything! I would highly recommend these and I am so pleased with the quality that I will be purchasing more for our new home as it has additional bathrooms.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Smart Design Backed by Amazing Customer Support I’m extremely happy with this 2-pack of automatic trash cans. The size is perfect for bathrooms, bedrooms, or really any area where you want a clean, hands-free solution without taking up much space. I use one as a diaper trash can and it makes changing diapers a little easier and it holds the smell in between changes. One thing I really appreciate is that they run on just two AA batteries, which makes replacements quick and easy. They’re advertised to last 3–6 months, and so far that seems very realistic. The lid opens super fast and smoothly, and the motion sensor is very responsive. I also love that you can kick the can to open it when your hands are full—such a small feature, but incredibly useful in day-to-day use. What truly sets this product apart, though, is the customer service. I had an issue with one of the cans, reached out to the company, and they immediately took care of it. They overnighted a replacement, no hassle, no back-and-forth. That kind of response shows they genuinely value their customers, and you just don’t see that level of service very often anymore. The replacement can is working perfectly, and I couldn’t be more satisfied overall.
