Like most woodworkers I haven’t seen a tool I don’t want. This little digital read out tape measure is really nice. I’m shocked how accurate it is considering some say it’s not. I’m giving it 5 stars because it works as advertised. The midpoint button (1/2) is a little tricky because it doesn’t work per the instructions but it works. You have to double tap the power button twice then hit the 1/2 and it divides the total measurement. I bought another for a family member so yea I recommend.

First off, I’m keeping this but there are some issues. The display only measures in increments of 1/16 inch. That is good enough for most general household use and ruff carpentry. What it really means if you were measuring 10 ½ you the digital could show that from just over 10 3/16 to just under 10 5/16. That is closer to an accuracy slightly better than 1/8 inch. If you intend to use it DIY cabinets or any time you need to know the exact measurement to the 1/32 of an inch, it will not provide that accuracy. The manual tape graduations are to the 1/32. I will use the readout to make sure I’m reading in the ballpark. Of course, if you are doing really fine measurement, you will be using a millimeter tape most likely and this does a good job of doing that. I just have not converted to mm for my DIY projects. I was hoping for better but did not realize that the digital marks were on the back of the tape and they are only in 1/16 increments so the digital measurements will never be better than that.

I have always had a hard time reading tape measures because of my eye site. So when I saw this, I thought it would be great to have something that would give the measurement in an easy to read format. It is easy to read, the display is great. The buttons are not overly intuitive, and a few times I have screwed up measurements because I have pressed the wrong button twice rather than once (reminds me every time of the old adage about measuring twice). My biggest gripe is that it is not consistently accurate. There have been more than one occasion where I have measured the same board twice and gotten slightly different measurements (e.g. 1/10 of an inch difference). Most of the time that is not a problem, but it seems like randomly it will do this, especially in smaller measurements. Overall I like this product because it solves the problem I had with my eyesight, I just make sure that I am measuring multiple times to catch the inaccuracies.

Fractions are not my friend. On a normal tape, I'm good with 1/4, 1/2 and the whole numbers and that's it. I like to build stuff for my cats and was tired of measuring things as 1/2" plus two small lines. I have tapes that have the fraction breakdown on them but they're difficult to see. This tape eliminates the issue.
