Really like the visibility of this double sided tape. Can see it from 20 feet away. Extends farther that any Stanley I've owned. Says drop tested to 100 feet, while I haven't tried that, it took a 20 foot drop on concrete no problems other than a scratch. It's still new and the tape itself is thick so it doesn't retract fast but seems to get faster the more you use it. ... show more

I generate about 20 home inspection reports a week for work, on a normal week. In catastrophe environments with heavy storm damage, I’ve done 3-5x that. In every inspection, I measure soffits, shingles, linear feat and width of fencing, sometimes the whole roof and anything else, etc. I’ve gone through numerous tape measures as they only last me 6 months to a year. This Lufkin 35’ has done the best. It stays in my tool belt always, and I believe I’ve only dropped it once, which may contribute to its longevity. It still retracts well when fully extended across a roof, and locks perfectly fine - no complaints. With something used so frequently, I wanted the extra durability, which does add a little weight. I really like the contrast/coloring of the tape itself which at first I thought to be weird, but it grew on me. I haven’t tested the 14’ stand-out in a while, but last time I did it still worked.     • Great tape measure
Love this tape measure, I work for a custom cabinet and furniture shop, I am an estimator and draftsman of 47 years so I measure houses all day long and I can see the tape measure numbers in those dark corners very easily, the yellow numbers and lines are really easy to see when measuring. It took me a while to get use to the yellow square at the 1' markers but once I got use to it, I find it easier to read, your foot mark is center, and half inch mark is beginning and end of yellow square. With the big curvature belly to the tape, I thought it would hold itself without bending or folding over but it is like a Fat-Max it will eventually bend especially measuring vertically. ... show more

Doesn't really withstand the construction site environment. I was looking for a tape measure that not many workers have on site this way its easy to identify And also something that can replace the fatmax but this is not the one as you can see the blade easily chips and bends. Probably a good tape measure for interior work or residential work but not a good tape measure for industrial work. ... show more

    • Worst tape I've ever used!
This has to be the worst tape measure I have ever used! 1. It's flimsy the slightest breeze or movement and it folds like a cheap suit! Heck breath wrong it folds, I'm pretty sure a wet spaghetti noodle is more rigid than this tape!!!! 2. This the most important and most infuriating thing this tape is not accurate try its off by a strong 1/8- 3/16ths not a big deal if you are working alone but when someone is giving measurements and you are cutting trim and everything is coming up short there is a problem!!!!! I confirmed this with the other guys on the jobsite when we all pulled our tapes to check mine , a dewalt, a Stanley, a Milwaukee, and a craftsman, and lucky me! My brand new night eyes was the messed up one! Obviously there is no quality control! The only thing this has going for it is its easy to ready that's it! I'd return it but marked it with my tool color like we do all our tools In short Buy at your own risk and don't use in a team environment! ... show more

As a contractor I’ve had many different tape measures. I’d loose one, then go get another, but trying a different brand. What caught my attention was Lufkin’s color. The black tape and green numbers looks cool and much easier to read. The tip works great as it’s metal and easily hooks to a wall. Tape can be stretched out and does have a slight bend. Size and weight is just right, sits well on my belt, and has a good grip. ... show more

This tape measure has some heft to it, not a cheap tape you get at the discount store. I love the measurements on the reverse side, very clever and easy to read for us old guys.
