Description

This 165 Ft. green-beam laser measure is a fully featured tool with an easy- to-read color display, great accuracy and reinforced housing for durability. The Bosch BLAZE™ GLM165-25G uses green-beam technology, which generates a point/dot up to 4X brighter than standard red beams. The laser has accuracy up to ±1/16 In., plus it includes a rounding button that rounds the measurement to the fraction that best suits the application and haptic feedback for loud jobsites. The digital laser measure also offers an IP65 rating, and it has an ergonomic design for better grip. It includes 11 different measuring functions, including real-time length, length, area, volume and indirect functions, and addition/subtraction capability. Laser Class II, <1mW.

WOW! I am so impressed with this thing. I should have bought one years ago! Haha just try to measure the height of a ceiling from the floor, in the middle of a room, with a measuring tape. :) The beam bounces off surfaces just fine. I bought it mostly for inside measurements. But I went outside to try measuring the width of the yard, by shining the beam at a wooden fence on one side. I first tried part way across and it worked! 142 ft. So then I went all the way to the fence on the other side to try measuring the full with. Display said "error"! I was thinking "yep, these things probably don't really go as far as they say". So then I walked forward to find the point where it would start measuring. Display lights up with "164.8 ft". Oops! :) The problem wasn't this unit, the problem was the yard was wider than 165 ft and I didn't know it. :P I think they have it cut off at 165 in software, knowing beyond that the accuracy would be less. Well was still useful, I just measured the remaining 12 feet or so of yard width with a tape measure. This works bouncing the beam off tree trunks, the chimney, brick, and of course inside wall surfaces. The green dot is easy to see, even at the 165 ft in the daytime. Having used this I'm skeptical I would have been able to see a red dot at 165 in the day. Impressed that it has a rubber gasket around the battery compartment door! Really is IP68. Super easy to use and figure out. I got it turned on and measuring without even reading the instructions year. The green button does both. The vibration feedback is great too, like a cell phone. No compliants of any kind! Reccommended A++++ ... show more

The installer for my new garage doors had one of these and swears by it so naturally I had to have one. I am a 5 star self proclaimed DIY'er and love great tools. I have only bench tested this and not used it for construction yet but know the menu fairly well and am anxious to put it thru some rigorous testing on my next project. Shoot measurements all over the house and with an easy to see green dot on my target, this is giving me back very accurate measurements. Time will tell but I fully expect this tool to be a great addition to my collection of fabulous tools that will help me increase my accuracy and speed giving me a better finished product. ... show more

This has worked well for me for what I call rough measuring. I have used it both inside and outside. I measured a balcony/deck outside a house to get rough measurements for helping to select furniture. I used it to get measurements for my cousin's kitchen and bathroom as he plans for remodel work. Light to hold, instant readings, can set accuracy and other display settings, and AA powered (which I prefer over rechargeable). For detail measurements, I would then use a tape to be more precise. I purchased this to replace an older Fluke entry-level meter of same size, for field-service measurements. This model is really well made, easy/intuitive functions, awesome display and has a rugged built-in 1/4-20" thread insert for tripod attachment.

    • Excellent Distance Measurement For Real Estate!

I use this distance measure as a real estate appraiser. It is very easy to see the laser both inside and outside. And, it will stack measurements in a list, so you can take three or four at time then add to notes vs. one at a time, clearing after writing down each measurement. It will beep and/or vibrate when a successful measurement is taken too. I am sure this tool will do the volume of a room, area, etc. I don't need those calculations in the field. But in using the tool, the additional functions are easy to toggle to if I did need them. Very Happy. ... show more
