My favorite tape measure! 😍
This tape measure is amazing upon initial use of it. I cannot speak to it's longevity, as I have just recently received it. However, the qualities(and resoning) that make this a superior tape measure in my opinion are as follows: - Rubber grip on the tape blade. Rubber grip makes it hold tight to the start point, and prevents injuries on retraction. -smooth sided tape. Not sharp at all so it won't cut if one isn't attentive during retraction. -Laser(because why not? 😆) it's nice if you want room dimensions, or to play with a cat. Lol - good shock resistant cover to keep it from easily breaking. -double sided tape, stiff enough to extend 6'9" angled into air before falling it's biceps to be able to read the tape on both sides to allow more versatile measuring. All in all, it is a normal size tape measure, with a bunch of what I consider to be luxury perks

Measures Up — Except for One Nagging Unit Issue
The combo of a traditional tape measure and a laser distance meter in one device is genuinely useful — you’re not juggling two tools or trying to remember where you set the laser down. It’s right there, built in. The Laser 130 feet of range is more than enough for most jobs around the house or a work site. Point, click, done. The backlit LCD is easy to read in dim spaces, which sounds like a small thing until you’re measuring in a poorly lit garage or basement and you’re not squinting at tiny numbers. The Tape Does exactly what a tape measure should do. No complaints there. The One Thing That Drives Me Nuts The unit display. I want feet? I can have feet. I want meters? Sure. What I cannot have — and what I desperately want — is a pure inches-only mode. Instead I’m getting feet, inches, and a fraction of an inch, which requires a quick mental conversion every time I just need a straight inch measurement, fraction ie. 26" 1/8. It’s a small thing, but it’s the kind of small thing that pokes you every single time you use the tool. An inches-only option in the settings would be a trivially easy firmware update and would make this a five-star purchase for me without question. Bottom Line A smart, well-built combo tool that covers a lot of ground in one tidy package. Highly recommended with that one asterisk — if you work primarily in inches, be prepared to do a little math on the regular.

The laser works great!
My husband loves the laser and uses it to measure distances. The actual tape measure isn't very long but with the laser, he doesn’t need it to be longer.

Flimsy tape-too thin but product support great
I really liked this out of the box and it was easy to use. Be aware the laser “expects” the user to hold the back end of the tape measure flush against whatever you’re measuring so it adds 3 and 3/8 inches to account for the size of the case. The measure point is different from what the tape shows. Anyway the tape is to flimsy for me. It bent between the 6 and 7 inch mark and now doesn’t stay straight out. I don’t even know how that happened but the material is thin. That’s a deal breaker for me. UPDATE 7/18/20: Lexivon reached out after my review so this is what I told them. “The issue I had was that the tape bent from something I did but I’m not sure what that was. I’ve not had this happen with other tape measures. Maybe it is the material it is made from. I thought it was ruined as it stayed flopped over to the right when extended beyond where the bend occurred. I figured it was ruined so I felt I had nothing to lose by trying to bend it back. I was able to work it so that it only twisted without folding over. I kept at it and managed to get it straight but it still has a kinks in the 7 to 8 inch range which I am aware of each time I extend the tape (pictures attached.) “ To their credit they sent me a new on and paid for shipping for return of damaged one. That’s a big plus for customer service. I really couldn’t find an equivalent item. Others were really bulky and just weren’t as good as the Lexivon so I’m glad to get the replacement and will be careful in the future now that I know it’s limitations. I like having a combined tape and laser rather than two separate devices and I really like the design of this item. Kudos to Lexivon for standing behind their product.
