This pump is absolutely not suitable for an in ground pool. I have a small pool (around 12k gallons) and it struggled to self prime and does not develop enough pressure and flow to operate the skimmer or a pool cleaner. This pump might work for an above ground pool, where the piping is always full of water, but even then would only be good enough for simple recirculation. If you have a fountain, or any above water sprays, it will not have enough pressure to effectively work. It was very easy to install and it does run very quietly.

Product works great. The pump motor is strong and quiet. However, there’s no wiring diagram in the provided manual showing where to connect the power lines for a 230‑volt setup. Even with an electrician friend helping, it still took a few minutes to sort out. I eventually figured it out, but I felt it was important to warn others. They do provide video links, but those weren’t helpful for this issue.

I ordered this pump based on the reviews, even though I normally look for ratings that are 4.6 or above. I opted to try this pump, and have not been disappointed. It is very quiet and the customer service is great! It was very easy to wire, and then prime. I purchased the 2hp, as it suctions from the skimmer, spa, and vacuum. The seals keep it from leaking, with only hand tightening and a couple 1/4 turns with a wrench. If it lasts a couple of years I will be happy, as the price was right.
