Limiting factor is the available spring tension created when the rod is put in position, Two small plastic cradles are provided to interface the rod and the opening walls. Still limited tension of the rod spring will allow heavier curtain etc, to make it flimsy. As a passage blocker, I expect to be picking it up from the floor and reaffixing it quite often. A reminder to read the dimensions of the product before you order! It's very small in diameter, but so far it's not bowing in the middle, but I fear it might eventually. Hopefully it will hold up. The length of the rod is fine. I'm permanently in a wheelchair. Doors are so difficult to open & close. I got a friend to remove my bathroom door & with this tension rod, he hung another shower curtain that matches the shower curtain in my bathroom. I think I will hang another curtain on top of the existing one when winter comes to help retain warmth in the bathroom. The shower curtain is dainty, lightweight & gauzy, so it doesn't weigh much. The tension rod is doing it's job just fine so in fairness I must give 5 stars. But if I have to buy one again, I won't buy this one because it's very small in diameter & I think it's better suited for a different need. I'd prefer to have a more sturdy & thicker rod. ... show more

I had no problem hanging a macrame doorway curtain from this tension rod. Quick shipping and a good value for price. It's been hanging there 3 weeks and hasn't moved. I did not have to use the peel and stick cups that come with it. Great seller experience. Use size is correct. It is sturdy.

Pretty good. Easy to install, just twist to loosen to tighten. I hung some curtains on it on the underside of a table. It has fallen off a few times, but just tightened more and havent had issues lately.
