The media could not be loaded. I've been wanting an incubator forever! There are so many beautiful breeds of poultry that I just can't get in my area and I really don't like the idea of shipping birds through the mail. So I've been wanting to try my luck with buying hatching eggs online. I know people have mixed results with hatching eggs so I didn't want to invest too much money and this was a good price point for me. While it's still too cold to order eggs through the mail in my area, I did put this machine through it's paces to make sure everything is functioning properly. The eggs in the pictures are from the two ambitious ducks in my flock, who are still laying eggs in the dead of winter! They are not fertile but I thought it would give you a better idea of how the machine functions with actual eggs in it. Just a caution before I get into reviewing the machine- open the box very carefully! It's packed pretty snug and you need to be careful not to break up the styrofoam. It actually serves to insulate the incubator and help maintain the right temperature during operation if the room temperature is too cold. Also, the power supply to the cord is in a small box that is not secured with the rest of the accessories. I realized it had fallen on the floor AFTER I contacted the seller and told them it was missing. While I felt pretty silly when I found it, I can tell you that they were very kind and answered my message within minutes! There is a small plastic gear that fits into the top of the machine. I struggled a little bit with twisting the top pieces apart to install it. However, that was the only part of the assembly and operation that wasn't super easy. I had it up and running in no time. It came with very clear instructions. I had no problem understanding how to operate it and change settings. I let it run for several days and it maintained consistent temperature and humidity. It was also very quiet. The plastic dome is very nice for viewing the eggs. You can see them clearly from every angle. The egg candler is a very handy addition and is nice and bright. I'm always losing the little flashlight I use for that purpose so I'm glad there's one attached to the machine! After testing it for a few days, I'm very pleased with it and excited to try it this Spring! ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Update: this incubator is doing so well keeping the desired temp and humidity levels! I hatched 12 of the 18 I started with. It’s been really easy to work with and I love the size. Only recommendation is that you buy a separate candler. This one has a light but it didn’t shine into the egg as well as I would hope. I have a second incubator and used that light instead, but my other machine jumps up and down in humidity! So this incubator and a small candling light would be perfect! I’m new to hatching chicks, but so far this incubator has been a breeze. The instructions were clear, it’s keeping a steady temp and the auto-turn feature is slow and gentle. It comes with two basket options… One for 18 chicken eggs and one for larger bird eggs. I’m excited to try the candling feature in 5 days and will update my review with more pictures, pros and cons once my eggs have hatched. Oh and it was packaged so well for shipping! I picked this incubator model because it included everything I needed to start incubating down to the brush. Details matter! I also chose this model because of the water top-up feature; which means I don’t have to keep opening the lid and losing the temperature inside. Plus, I like how the bubble dome gives me a clear view of the whole hatching process. The set up is simple -- it took me only 5-minutes to get going with their step-by-step instructions. I live on a lot of acreage and find abandoned eggs all the time. I like that I can now hatch all kinds of eggs— chicken, duck, birds, which is super handy for me since I never know what type of egg I will come across. The instructions are clear and very helpful. My eggs have 2 weeks or so to hatch but so far the rotation, temp & humidity regulation, and progress light is working flawlessly. I will update if I noticed anything worth noting.

This is the first incubator. The instructions are easy to follow and use. The top was a little hard to get off to install the gear, but after that, it was easy to setup. The light for candling the eggs is extremely bright making it easy-to-use. I like the egg turning feature, which you can adjust. Water bottles are included to help with humidity levels. DO NOT BUY Used for a single hatch. The second hatch was half way done and the heating element stopped working and all the chicks died. Buy anything else.
