Purchased to remove and cut into 2' pieces a 10-12" diameter 20' healthy White Ash branch. This saw sailed through it with ease and without needing to replace batteries. Excellent design, easy to clean and maintain. I have a DeWalt 8" battery chain saw and an 8" pole saw; set up and maintenance on this is just as easy. Tension adjustment is a little different but good. Like any chain saw, keeping it clean, well maintained and proper chain tension is the magic.

This saw is a trooper! It was able to take down 25' tall/16" thick palm tree and then chop it into manageable pieces. It's a proper tool for such job. The saw was cutting through the dense palm trunk with an ease. It was jamming only in the thickest parts, where it was necessary to cut a wedge. Still, no drama at all. The saw is very powerful, the battery life is ok -- two fully charged 4AH batteries were allowing to make 6-7 cuts across 16" thick trunk. I'm an amateur -- I had to make cuts from different sides and roll downed tree to avoid jams. Someone who makes living cutting trees would probably manage to get better battery life. The saw does not deplete batteries to "un-chargeable" level. After the saw depletes the battery and ceases to operate, it was possible to start charging the battery immediately. The chain gets loose after several cuts, but it's easy to adjust it. Also, it's easy and convenient to disassemble the saw for cleaning. The saw is more powerful and effective than yellow brand alternative.

Good. Cuts well with sharp chain and high capacity batteries. The build quality is good but not great but it's a good value for the money for light duty use. The size and weight are good, similar to equal size/power gas saws. I have a lot of DeWalt tools, so it is convenient sharing the same battery platform. I like electric saws for occasional use because they are quieter and no need to manage stinky gas. Run time is short with batteries, but that works out okay for occasional home use for me.

YES YES YES. Powerful, works long time with the deWalt batteries, very easy to adjust tension of chain. Cuts through trees like they are melted butter ... I had spent a day with my gas chain saw cutting down a massive tree with FIVE main sections, each a major tree... The gas saw had to be relubricated three times and gas three times replaced. This electric was much much much faster. It is lighter. It is QUIET. Easy to use. The adjuster for tension is to loosen a large but easy to use loosener, then a roller to tense, then easy to re tighten. Love it. Would buy it again even if it does not last forever. Cannot say enough about it. I used it all day yesterday, using two batteries while two were recharging.

First off, just holding this chainsaw with two Dewalt 5.0Ah batteries installed feels very balanced and instills a sense of confidence in its quality. I have many Dewalt 20V MAX batteries, so I knew my electric chainsaw purchase would have to be in the Dewalt ecosystem. The problem I ran into is that the Dewalt 20V chainsaw is prone to leaking bar oil when in storage, and the 60V chainsaw would require me to buy into the Flexvolt line of tools and batteries (not to mention that the Dewalt 60V chainsaw is heavier and larger). This chainsaw looked like the perfect compromise, with 40V (2 x 20V MAX batteries) being more powerful than a 20V chainsaw, but still leveraging all my 20V MAX batteries. Turns out this Reliaroads chainsaw doesn't drip ANY bar oil, and auto-oils just enough to keep the bar and chain slippery! I am using Husqvarna bar oil. The power (torque) and response of this chainsaw is excellent. I powered through many 8"-10" trees no problem, and the batteries had 2 out of 3 bars left after 1.5 hours of constant cutting. The chain tensioner works great and doesn't lose its tension.

This for me is a great machine, twice the power of my 12 inch dewalt chainsaw, at half the cost, and it has cut so much for me, I thought the first chain was weak, but Ive been able to sharpen the 2nd one 3 times now and it returns to cutting well, so Im happy. If you have some 4 or 5amp dewalt batteries this would be a great chainsaw for you !!
