This saw paid for itself the first day we used it! My husband used it to cut about 10 huge Areca Palms to their bases, the chain came off once but was so easy to put back on we couldn’t believe it! We put that saw to work all day and figured if it lasted all day and then died it would be worth the price we paid. We had a battery charger already and ordered extra batteries. Since that day we’ve used it on other projects, ordered extra chains since they’re not expensive and SO EASY to install. This saw is a real workhorse, didn’t leak any oil and it’s lightweight. Over all very impressive and pleased with this chain saw, I bought a vacuum from the same company a year ago and have been pleased with it as well. Battery last quite a while I ran it for 20-30 minutes on a set of batteries. Only draw back is the chain does kick off a little more often then I would like and it did not come with bar oil. Very nice unit, doesn't leak oil and cuts fast and clean, it doesn't eat bar oil like my Stihl or Ryobi pole saw and uses just two lightweight DeWalt batteries. I gave my Stihl gas powered saw to my son-in-law, was a good saw but took three men and a boy to start, bought this instead, no fuss, press a button and cut some wood, - never run out of battery juice yet. ... show more

This saw is a BEAST!! I have 2 gas chainsaws that refuse to start when I need them. Bought the 4 pack of 8.5 ah batteries and cut down 2 medium trees. The chains it comes with are sharp and work well, but they tend to jump off the bar. I put on an Oregon bar and chain and it cut great.

The only real negative I have with it is the tool free design to loosen or tighten the chain. It does come loose pretty easily without even being aggressive with the chainsaw like it snagging on something. However it's also very quick and easy to tighten it back up so it's not the biggest issue in my opinion. I'm not the biggest fan of the oil cap location either considering it's electric, but it is what it is... its the same on gas models, but being electric it could've been placed better. The rest of the chainsaw feels great. The weight balance is perfect with 2 5ah batteries on it. It feels every bit as sturdy and solid as my old stihl of similar size. The safety button is conveniently enough placed to not be annoying to use. It has plenty of RPM and strength to cut like a regular gas chainsaw. I cut with it for about 45 minutes with 2 real 5ah fully charged and it didn't even drop 1 bar, so I can only assume the people complaining about battery life are either using aftermarket batteries or they're trying to use a little 2ah on it or something. The chains that come with it are good enough for the price, but after those are shot I would definitely recommend better chains. it was cutting a 12" oak trunk without any hesitating or bogging so it's more than good enough for me. ... show more
