  • Good, Faster than Expected!
It has all the functions you'll need and a great instructional book to guide you through! I tested the turner with a store bought chicken egg. I marked the top with a pencil line, and it does take about 75 seconds to turn and turned the top to the bottom, which is great. The rollers are adjustable to whatever size egg you need, and can also be taken out to use less for larger eggs. For chicken eggs, I skipped a space so the rollers were about 2 spaces apart and it turned well. My house is around 75-78 degrees and 50-60% humidity and it only took about 15-20 minutes to get it up to the temperature. The instructions say to give it more time, but perhaps that's for winter, outside, or just lower temperatures in general. So it was nice and quick to warm up--quicker than expected! It is also equipped to control humidity. I filled a yogurt tub with some water to test it, and it is getting up to humidity fairly quickly. It's at 53 out of 60 after about 30 minutes, which is also pretty quick. I did keep the vent on top closed which may have contributed to how quickly it warmed and humidified. Opening the top a crack for about 3 seconds drops the humidity about 10 points, and it recovered those in very little time. It doesn't use a ton of water. I put about an inch of water in a 2 lb great value yogurt container and it looks the same after two hours of its first use. It's made out of nice materials and is durable. Also important to note that it does come with a power cord that connects to a battery if the place you want to keep it doesn't have an electrical outlet nearby. What is quite nice is that in the back of the instructional booklet, they have a few sections on selecting and storing breeding eggs, a Q&A that includes questions about successfully hatching them and not just about the machine, and a few tables that show hatching days across the top and the temperature, humidity, if you should keep the rotator on, cooling, spraying water, and when to light the egg to inspect it. That is super helpful! I tested the egg candler on some store bought, non-fertilized eggs. It does work well and is also a really nice feature to include! The alarm is quite loud for when it's too high or low temperature and humidity. It went off when I didn't have the humidifier plugged in yet. The unsafe ranges where you want the alarm to sound are programmable. I'm confident that if it left the safe range I would wake up or hear it across my house. The whole set up fits on my night stand even with a lamp and power strip on it, so it doesn't take up too much space. it also comes with a small spray bottle for the last few days when you need to spray the eggs with water and another dropper style one. There is a net to place instead of rollers when it is time to hatch. Overall, this is a great tool to help ensure success in hatching eggs. It does most of the monitoring for you, alarms you if there is something wrong, can be used for a large range of bird eggs (chicken, duck, peacock, pigeon, goose, and quail, controls the humidity and temperature, and has an egg candler built-in. ... show more

  • Set it and forget it. We have chicks
We had a couple of chickens die on us not too long ago. Fortunately, the day one of them passed, we were able to grab a couple of their recently laid eggs to incubate, in hopes of getting them to hatch. I had purchased this incubator shortly before this happened, so this was the chance to test it out. Well, everything about this thing is easy. Settings are straightforward and very user friendly out of the box. As a beginner to all of this, I was able to get the temperature and humidity just right. It did all the rest by maintaining a perfect environment for the eggs to hatch. It's a very impressive unit that even turns the eggs automatically. We weren't even sure the eggs had been fertilized, but to joy after not too long. Directions are straightforward, and the unit is very well built. Great purchase. 5 stars. ... show more

  • It keeps temperature well and humidity seems stable
This is my first attempt at hatching eggs so I do expect there to be a bit of a learning curve for me. When the incubator arrived, it appeared to be very safely packaged. The water pump was not in one piece, and the humidity sensor had fallen apart as well. This may have been due to shipping. I was able to snap the pump back together and also the humidity sensor. I went ahead and turned the unit on and let it run for a couple days to see if it will maintain 99.5F. It did that very well. My humidity seemed a little on the higher side and I also think this may be because I set it too high initially and it may take some time and evaporation to bring it down. The unit is pretty much silent. The pump works at keeping the humidity up. I think once I figure out how to dial in the humidity, I will attempt my first run. I would hate to waste eggs due to lack of experience. The manual had instructions for different bird eggs, but not quail, but there is plenty of information online about this. I would recommend if you are a first timer like me or even want to use it as a science experiment for your kids. I can see how you can raise other birds with this as well. ... show more

  • holds temp well
Easy to use. Includes a pump that regulates humidity. It does take a few extra things to connect but overall it its worth it to have the humidity auto regulated. I was impressed by how fast this got up to temp. I use a lot of incubators and only a few others have ever heated up this fast. Construction is solid and everything lined up. The lid fits good and the included foam actually covers near the whole thing which helps a lot when it is a little colder outside. In conclusion this is a great incubator. ... show more

  • Great Incubator
The media could not be loaded. I love the little pump that comes with this. It has a reasonable hatch-out rate, and the rollers automatically gently roll your eggs for you. It has a decent candling light, too. It gives you your temperature and humidity. The digital reading is in Fahrenheit. You do, however, have to supply your water source. The price is pretty decent. It has a vent and comes with hookups for either AC or DC power. It holds about 16 eggs depending on size and holds temps, too. ... show more

  • Never seen one like this
The media could not be loaded. I've hatched many chickens and ducks through the years, and I've used all kinds of incubators. This incubator stands out from the others. It has a true automatic humidity controller. It has a water pump that is computer controlled which regulates the water levels automatically. All you have to do is provide an outside water source and set the humidity level. It keeps the humidity exactly that level through the hatch. It also has a movable vent in the hood. All my other incubators just had a drilled hole that couldn't be adjusted. It has all the other expected features like a candler, thermostat, humidity guage, and timer. Another unique feature is that you can use (provided) battery cables to keep the power running if your house power goes out. You do have to have a small battery on hand to use the cables. This is an almost full proof incubator. ... show more
