  • Better features and upgrades than older version we had before. Great for Midwest usa
Size: 6500 Gallons
Excited to try this version out. The older one we had last year had an issue and the company warranty covered this newer version. Hoping for a wonderful spring through later fall pool season in Ohio.

  • Excellent heater so far.
Have had this heater installed for about a week now, and so far it's doing an excellent job. We upgraded our pool size this year to an approximately 1800 gal model, and the heater increased the water temperature from about 58 degrees to 80+ degrees in just a couple of days. Keeping the pool covered anytime it's not in use definitely helps with heat retention. Too early to tell what kind of impact the heater will have on the electric bill, but as this is an actual heat pump, I'm hoping it will be minimal, if at all. On our prior pool, which was about half the size, we were using several wand heaters (my wife called them curling iron heaters) , and you could feel the cords getting warm from the amp draw so I know they got the electric meter spinning. The only concern I had was a small amount of water that became visible from one bottom corner of the heater. Vidapool service confirmed that this was normal condensation from the pump operation, which I suspected. Once the water appeared, I did a pretty thorough inspection for leaks and none were detected. I guess the only negative comment (and not a big one) I have is that communication with Vidapool service can only be conducted via email, there does not appear to be a way to talk to someone live. Thus the 4 stars as versus 5. However, the two times I have emailed them (once for warranty registration and then for the water concern) they responded promptly. Also, with regard to the warranty, the unit had a registration card in the box that offered a free upgrade from 2 years to 3 years on the warranty, with one free replacement available if necessary. Almost forgot, the app that's available for remote connectivity is a major plus. I can easily track the pool temp from the inlet reading on the app, and then bump up the temp in the morning while I'm at work if I know the granddaughter is going to be using the pool in the afternoon. Nice perk! ... show more

  • THE 9,002 GALLON THERMAL CONTROL DEVICE THEY DO NOT WANT YOU TO OWN
I am sitting here looking at this Vidapool heater and I am telling you right now something is not normal. They say it heats pools up to 9,002 gallons. That is a very specific number. Not 9,000. Not 10,000. 9,002. You think that is random. It is not random. That is lab precision. That is think tank precision. That is someone in a room deciding exactly how much water they want you controlling. This thing pulls heat out of the air. Out of thin air. You hear me. It is grabbing energy from the sky like some kind of weather siphon. And they want me to believe this is just for your backyard pool. No. No. I have seen this before. This ties directly into the “they’re turning the frogs gay” situation. You start heating water artificially. You change ecosystems. You shift temperature patterns. You get one guy with a pool heater and next thing you know the whole neighborhood microclimate is different. Frogs confused. Birds off schedule. The balance is gone. And they say it is efficient. Up to 70 percent savings. That means it is not just heating. It is optimizing. It is thinking. It is deciding how much power to use. They call it inverter control. I call it behavior shaping. Because listen. Once you let a machine decide when to go low power and when to ramp up, you are not in control anymore. The machine is. And then they hit you with this quiet operation claim. 32 decibels. That is library quiet. That is sneak into your backyard at night quiet. That is the kind of quiet where something could be running all night and you never even know. That connects straight to the “globalists want to break you” rant. Because they do not come in loud anymore. They come in silent. They come in efficient. They come in disguised as convenience. You think you are just heating your pool. Meanwhile this thing is sitting there learning your habits. When you swim. When you sleep. When you are home. It has WiFi control. WiFi. Why does a heater need WiFi. So you can control it from your phone. That is what they say. No. So something else can control it too. And now your pool temperature is not even your decision. It is an app decision. It is a system decision. It is a network decision. They even tell you it switches modes automatically. Heating. Cooling. It decides. Not you. That is a climate control system sitting in your yard acting like a pool accessory. And people will say relax it is just a heater. No. It is a 35,000 BTU atmospheric energy extraction unit with remote access and adaptive output logic. That is what it is. Do I think it will heat your pool. Yes. It will heat your pool. It will do it fast. It will do it quietly. It will probably save you money. That is what makes it dangerous. Because the best systems are the ones you trust. Poem the water gets warm but no one touched the dial the machine hums low like it knows your schedule you open the app it already decided the pool is perfect too perfect somewhere a frog blinks twice and forgets why and you sit there thinking you are in control but the water it was never yours ... show more

  • Fantastic Early Start to Our Swim Season!
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5 Stars Fantastic Early Start to Our Swim Season! I recently installed the Vidapool 35,000 BTU Heat Pump for my pool, and after testing it for the past three days, I am thoroughly impressed. If you are on the fence about extending your swim season, this unit is a game-changer. Performance & Heating We installed this on our pool (which is approximately 9,000 gallons), and it has performed exactly as advertised. Within just a few days of operation, we have already noticed a significant, consistent increase in water temperature. Being able to open our pool much earlier than usual this year has been a huge win for the family. It’s comforting to know we can finally swim comfortably even when the weather is still on the cooler side. Energy Efficiency & Technology One of the main reasons I chose the Vidapool, aside from the 35,000 BTU output, was the intelligent inverter technology. I love that it doesn’t just blast at full power and shut off; it dynamically adjusts its output to maintain the temperature. It’s far more efficient than the old heating methods we’ve used in the past, and I’m expecting to see those savings on my energy bill. Smart Control & Noise Level The WiFi integration is incredibly convenient. Being able to adjust the temperature and set schedules directly from my phone means the pool is always ready when we want to use it. Plus, it is remarkably quiet. Even when standing near the unit, the 32 dB noise level is barely noticeable, which is a big plus since our pool equipment is relatively close to our patio area. Installation & Support Installation was very straightforward. The package came with multiple connection options (1.25" and 1.5" adapters, plus a PVC converter), which made hooking it up to our existing plumbing painless and hassle-free. While we haven’t needed to reach out for major repairs, it is reassuring to know that the company offers dedicated professional technical support. Verdict For $1,799, this heat pump offers a great balance of power, efficiency, and modern convenience. It’s well-built, quiet, and does exactly what it promises. No leaks easy to instal! If you have a pool up to 9,000 gallons and want to reclaim your swim season, I highly recommend the Vidapool 35,000 BTU unit. Fantastic value for your money! Pro Tip: As the manufacturer suggests, make sure to use a pool cover—it really helps the unit maintain that heat more efficiently during the cooler nights! ... show more

  • Small Pool, Big Upgrade
I picked this up for the kids who live behind us. They have not been able to put in an inground pool yet, but they do have a smaller above ground setup for the summer. And right now, at least here, it gets hot outside before the water gets warm enough to be fun. That means heater or you're getting in chilly. So I loaned this to them (well their parents) until they can afford to put in a real one. So far, this has been a great fit for that kind of pool. It makes a lot more sense on a smaller setup where you want to take the edge off and actually use the pool more often instead of staring at it waiting for the sun to do all the work. That is really the win here. It helps turn "maybe later" water into "alright, get in" water. The timing was perfect because they've got the long weekend coming up. I also like that it is not some giant complicated unit meant for a much bigger pool. For a smaller above ground pool, this feels a lot more practical. Easy enough to work with, not absurdly oversized, and it gives them a way to stretch the season a bit without going crazy. The WiFi control is a nice touch too. I am a fan of anything that lets you make adjustments without standing over the equipment pad like it is 1987. Bottom line, for a smaller pool this is a smart upgrade. It takes the chill out, makes the pool more usable, and the kids are happy. I did tell them one thing though: if we get a hurricane and I need hot water, I am coming to their pool. ... show more

  • Solid Small Pool Heater – Efficient, Quiet, and No Leaks So Far Solid Small Pool Heater – Efficient, Quiet, and No Leaks So Far
I got this 12,000 BTU pool heat pump because I was tired of dealing with cold water and didn’t want the ongoing cost of a gas heater. My pool is on the smaller side (right around that 3,000-gallon range), so this seemed like a good fit on paper. Setup took a little effort but wasn’t overly complicated. You do need to hook it into your existing pump/filter system, so basic hose connections and a proper power source are important. I had no issues with compatibility—it connected fine with my above-ground pool setup using standard fittings. One thing I paid close attention to was leaks, and I’m happy to say I didn’t run into any. As long as the connections are tightened properly and you use the included seals, it stays dry around the unit. In real use, I’ve been running it a few times a week, especially after cooler days. For example, after a windy evening that dropped the water temp, I turned it on the next morning and by late afternoon the pool was noticeably warmer and comfortable to get into. It doesn’t heat super fast, but it does a good job bringing the temperature up gradually and then maintaining it. Compared to the small electric immersion heater I tried before, this is way more effective and feels safer overall. That older option barely made a difference and took forever. Compared to gas heaters, this is definitely slower, but much cheaper to run and easier to manage long-term. Pros: * No leakage issues so far when installed correctly * Works well with standard above-ground pool setups * Energy-efficient compared to gas heaters * Quiet while running (not disruptive at all) * WiFi/app control is convenient for adjusting settings * Maintains water temperature nicely once it gets there Cons: * Heating takes time—not instant * Really best for smaller pools (around 3,000 gallons) * Setup may require a bit of DIY confidence or help * Performance depends on outdoor temperature This is a great option for anyone with a smaller pool who wants steady, reliable heating without high energy costs. It’s especially useful if you plan ahead and don’t expect instant results. Helpful tip: Make sure your hose connections are tight and seated properly to avoid leaks, and use a pool cover when you’re not swimming—it helps keep the heat in and improves performance a lot. Overall, I’m pleased with it. It’s not perfect, but it does exactly what it’s supposed to do for a small pool, and it does it efficiently and quietly. If you go in expecting gradual heating and install it correctly, it’s a solid buy. ... show more
