It's not as cheap as I feared based on some reviews, the wood is substantial enough for the price. Just I would advise assembling carefully, as with any cheap wood product like this. the top and bottom braces are not super stable because of the way they are bolted on. I decided to make the following modifications that added some value: -drilled small pilot holes for the screws that go in to the side bars -I used the extra bolt/wingnut sets to make anchor points on the left and right side of the bottom bracket, I just drilled holes on each side and set it at a height that I figured I would use the most. -I'm just leaving the top bracket off, you'll be holding on to the canvas a lot anyways so if you want to do a tiny bit of DIY, you will get your money's worth for the cost of the wood and the hardware. I didn't have literally any table space or anything anywhere in my small apartment to paint so this does the job for me.

I started doing Paint by Numbers and wanted to do it standing because I sit enough during the work day, so I thought I’d get an easel but not spend a ton since it’s a side hobby. But I should have spent more than this. This thing is CHEAP. I couldn’t even hammer it into place without nearly breaking my fingers which are the things that allow me to paint in the first place so the task was self-defeating, nothing fit, the wood was splintering, it fell over and hit me in the head. I felt like I was on a sitcom. Then I forgot to return it and my dad used it for firewood. Literally can’t make this up. 0/10.

I have been using this easel for about a month now. I wanted an inexpensive easel to hold my tapestry weaving. This was pretty easy to assemble and is pretty sturdy. My only complaint is that I need the little screwdriver it comes with to adjust it up and down which I do often to reach the current spot I’m weaving. I’d also appreciate a little lip on the top to hold the loom frame a little more securely as sometimes it comes off with light pressure. Overall I’d recommend it and would buy it again as it suits my needs and price range.

The easel is sturdy and attractive. I’m a female on in years and assembled the easel on the dining room table until the last two steps. The drawings for the last two steps were unclear, but I watched the first video on the Amazon product site. It cleared my confusion, and I finished soon afterwards.

I own many expensive easels, and on a trip of some length I needed something cheap and useful. This easel was very helpful, but I gave it away in the end to someone who needed an easel. It's easy to put together, but adjusting the easel one needs the screw driver for each adjustment. I gave it five stars because I needed something cheap, and this easel did the trick for the entire trip. Would I use this in my home studio? No.
