I was skeptical at first as to whether this would work. I've got a 12ft diameter round SummerWaves pool, 3ft deep, and it never got naturally warm enough for my liking. The first pump came and threw an error code, but the manufacturer support was actually super helpful and walked me through multiple troubleshooting steps, including sending me a video on exactly how to do it. After we concluded there was an issue with a flow sensor, they sent me a second unit right away and that one started right up with no problems! Very easy to install, just connect the hoses from the existing pump. My pump is 1500gph and I turned it on yesterday with the water at 72 degrees and let it run all day. By 7am this morning it was up to 83 degrees! The unit is very quiet when running and I haven't had any problems with leaks. Honestly, I am really, truly impressed.

This pool heater would only heat the pool 6 degrees . Starting temp was 75 degrees, got up to 81 degrees after 2 days and would not get water any higher than 81 degrees after 4 days. Temp would drop to 77 degrees at night and get back to 81 degrees by the end of the day. Could not find any support online

So I bought the 16,000 BTU heater that said “up to 6,000 gallons.” My pool is closer to 7,000 gallons but the next size up was twice as expensive so I hoped this would do well enough. It was super easy to install and get up and running. It took 5 days to get from 68 degrees to 85 degrees with the solar bubble cover on it. Our day time air temperatures were in the upper 60’s and low 70’s. Our nighttime air temps dropped into the med 40’s a couple of those nights. It took a little longer than I had hoped for but it got there. We wanted a warmer pool for arthritis work outs. I am very pleased. And it is quieter than the pool pump!!

So far… complete garbage. It ran for two days and the pool temp went up 2 degrees. The air temp went up 10. Then I got an error message on it. No phone mail for company. Emailed them… got an email stating they would send me a video on how to fix it. A week later never got the video. Going to try and return it on their 2 yr warranty, we will see what happens.

This heat pump is working great for my 24 foot round above ground pool. I was looking for a way to extend the swimming season a bit, and this seems to be doing the trick. Installation was surprisingly easy, I had it up and running in no time and it just plugs into a regular electrical outlet. So far, I'm very impressed with the performance and ease of use. This is rated for up to 3,000 gallons and my pool is about 14,000 gallons so I don't expect this to really heat my pool to like 90 degrees but it's definitely helping to get the water temperature comfortable. It is worth mentioning that this is not a pump. A hose goes from your filter to this and then into the pool so the water is being pushed by your existing pool pump through the filter into this and then out to the pool. A worthwhile investment for anyone looking to help warm up their above ground pool.
