This was defective and a complaint to the seller did no good at all. Whoever answered my complaint did not have any product knowledge. The green cover on the top of the battery was not attached at all. It was designed to be permanently attached and sealed. When I tried to pick up the battery with the lifting straps the cover came off exposing the inner wiring and components. They said they would send me a new cover which would not solve the problem at all. Now it's too late for a refund. ATTENTION Updated Review: I misunderstood the sellers initial reply to my complaint. I thought they offered to replace the lose cover only. What they did was send me a new battery. This one is working great. I didn't have to pay any shipping charges or anything, so I am a very happy customer and changed the rating to 5 stars. EXCELLENT customer service. Thank you!

We purchased two 100 amp hour batteries (HWE 12 v 100AH) for our freezer back up system, maintained by a charge controller set for LiP. Once fully charged, the system was tested for 24 hours and ran fine. Last week, we noticed the system voltage had crashed to1.7 v and locked up. A smart charger reported "error" and would not charge. We recovered the bank by tapping the terminals with a 12 v lead acid battery not limited to current. Current draw was so large that the batteries alarmed even with a momentary tap. Three taps recovered voltage to 5 v, at which point we were able to connect the smart charger in "repair" mode until 10 v back voltage, and then run a rull LiP charge cycle. Once fully charged, we ran a 24 test, taking 1.6 kwh's, and the system crashed again to 1.7 volts. We have contacted Howell Energy several times, including the email address in China, but have not yet received any response. The system is now useless and apparently is defective. Update: Howell Energy responded finally and requested photos and videos of our tests, presumably a discharge to crash scenario, but that was not clear in the request. Test is in progress. Shipping to California would be at our expense. Communications thus far have been brief and cyriptic. Implication is replacement if defective units are detected in California. Update#2: Howell requested a complete discharge test with photographic evidence, which we performed in accordance with their instructions. The batteries crashed to 1.74 volts in an identical manner to the two previous tests, see attached photo of the final battery state due to faiure of the BMS. According to Howell, the BMS built into these units should cut off discharge at 10 volts. We will be packing them up for shippment to California at our expense, per Howell instructions. Update #3: The batteries were disconnected and prepared for shipping, so were no longer connected to the inverter. Howell requested a voltage check. After 24 hours disconnected, both batteries now read 11.7 volts, indicating less than 10% capacity. Both batteries were frozen at 1.7 volts and would not take a charge in all three previous discharge tests, requiring the momentary bump with 12 volts from a lead acid battery in order to recover sufficient voltage to allow a smart charger to function. We have requested an explanation of this situation. Communicaiton with Howell improved following our first post here but apparently we can not revise only that component, so we have revised our overall rating slightly pending the outcome of this situation. Update #4: "Jack" with Howell is no longer responding to our emails. They have admitted that the batteries are defetive based on our tests performed to their specification. They refuse to provide a UPS return lable at their expense.

Working great so far. I converted my Ryobi riding mower from AGM batteries to these. I have no issue cutting my whole lawn (2/3 acre) on a charge. When new my AGM's would be at half charge when mowing completed which is as far as you should discharge them without damaging them (AGM's). They only lasted 3 years, 1 of which I had to charge again mid-cutting. LiFePOs can be nearly fully discharged and left sitting fully charged without damage. This means I have about twice the range now. Of course these are significantly more expensive than AGM's but should last years longer as well. I didn't test if they meet the stated capacity but I have no complaints based on the range I'm getting.

Bought two 12 v 100aH Howells, one took a charge and has full power, one will not take a charge. I've had great luck with Howell batteries for my fishing sonars but this is disappointing. Hopefully I can get this right. ***8 hours later***They made it right by refunding me for the defective battery. I have great respect for a company that stands by their product and makes things right. They are great batteries, and with their timely review and refund I'm sure I'll by another one.Considering the journey their products make to get here some are certain to have issues and they are aware

I bought two of these batteries in March 2022. Installed them in my Arctic Camper, still going strong. I use Victron 100/30 Controller, Victron Battery Sense temp sensor, BVM-712 Shunt, 400w Renogy solar panels, 1500w Voltworks inverter.

Don’t buy these. Put them in a golf cart and had nothing but trouble. They work great for a very short time but have issues as they will intermittently loose power across them but still be almost fully charged. Company is tough or impossible to get them to stand behind their product.
