Went and checked for anything mentioned in previous comments, but I didn't have any of those imperfections. So, after reading the manual to be sure I wasn't about to cause any issues. I got it hooked up and got it going. My battery was dead, but it is less than 6 months old, so it was just drained. Got it hooked up after getting it in a ventilated area, and it took 5 hours for it to charge the small 45aH car battery. It was easy to set up and use. The fans kept it cool, so it never got hot. It is a bit big, but it's not heavy, so it was easy to move around without having to struggle with it. If your battery isn't a Gel battery, be sure you switch it before letting it start. By default, it chooses Charging, Gel Battery, and the lowest aH setting.

Revived in good shape. The panel and functions all seemed to work. I first charged the battery in a vintage car and all seemed fine. However when connected to a late model 2007 car the cars electrical system was acting oddly. flashers illuminating, noise from the radio (and the radio failed). Put a different charger on the same car and worked without the electrical noise. Needing to get the battery charged, I removed the battery from the car and ran through the charge. That seemed to work OK. After the experience I won’t connect it to any of my other cars for fear of damaging something in them also.

This 12/24V car battery charger with the engine starter and 50-amp boost has been a real asset for my mobile mechanic work. The 250-amp engine starter feature gets vehicles up and running quickly, even on those tough starts. The 50-amp boost is powerful enough to charge larger batteries fast, and the maintenance mode is perfect for keeping batteries topped off without overcharging. It’s versatile for both 12V and 24V systems, making it great for a wide range of vehicles. The build is sturdy, and the controls are easy to use. Having this in my kit has saved me a lot of time on the job, especially when dealing with vehicles that need a quick start or charge. Definitely a reliable, high-performance charger.

Very good price for the 50A charger, but you get what you pay for. What is good: The charger works well. I have not yet tested the high-amp engine start function, but charging is functional, configurable, and useful. Jump wires are very thick, seem to be made of copper, and long enough for most use cases. The charger of this amperage is a must have tool and its primary use in the shop is to prevent car battery from discharging while the car is being repaired or ECUs are being reflashed. The product has quute a few limitations that are trade-offs for the reasonable price: - Wires are attached to clamps loosely and not crimped for secure connection (see picture). You want to fix this or the wires will wear out over time from bending. - All case parts are made of plastic and the tool has a feeling of an electronic toy, not professional equipment. - Jumper wire storage brackets on both sides of the device are thoughtful, but inconvenient, because they make the charger much larger and oddly shaped, so it is hard to store. - Cables do not detach and enter the device through plastic glands that have tendency to get loose and rotate in their sockets. - The fan is extremely noisy. It is not temperature controlled. The fan turns on when the device is powered on and stays on until it is powered off. My final verdict on this charger is: it is good for car enthusiast use, but it has no place in a professional repair shop.
