Item delivered in good shape (overkill on protective skin). Checked electrical operation before install (everything worked). So far I can only report the unit functions as it should. It has only been installed for 6 hours so if there is anything to report, good or bad, I will do an update. Installation (get yourself a coffee): After careful measurement and preparation it turned into a nightmare to get the proper alignment for under cabinet installation on my circa mid eighties cabinets. I had to purchase filler strips in first as the punchout holes fell in a void caused by a 1” lip from the cabinet floor. Trying to place the flimsy paper template under the cabinet was a no go. I had to reinforce it with a stiff art paper to get it somewhat flat(ish). The template printing had to be flipped over to match the punchouts prior to placing so I had to drill holes in the proper locations so I could reference them after getting it in place. There was nothing to attach double sided tape (not included) to so I had to use a staple gun. After finally getting the template put up (poorly) I proceeded to drill pilot holes that extended to the face frame of the cabinet (too close for comfort). The coup’d gras was the cheap screws supplied were reamed out within seconds of drilling. I used non construction drywall screws because they had a wider head and I barely had enough room for them to seat in the narrow slots due to the precariousness of their proximity to the cabinet face frame. It’s in, off center, precariously hung and a few curse words lost to the ether. Hope I don’t ever have to do this again. ... show more

The width was 29 1/2 inches as it was listed ,so there is a 1/4” gap on each side. The 1.5 W lights aren’t very bright. My product came damaged but the box looked OK. It was easy to install but probably not worth the price.

This was pretty easy to install. I had to dill a hole into my cabinet for the plug and put in 4 screws to hold it up. My cabinets are old and not a standard size so it didn't fit exactly right, but ended up working with some tweaking. It seems to work well as a ductless vent.. only concern is that the metal is very light weight so don't know if it will hold up over time and they built it with the protective plastic on so it's impossible to remove some of the bits stuck in screws or joints. Overall looks pretty good and worth the cost so far. ... show more

This under the cabinet stove hood is a wonderful stove light. If I were buying just a light I would rate it 5 stars, but I was also buying a vent, and it barely works unless your stove is 6 inches below the vent. It was also slightly damaged, which tells us something about quality control. The design is fine, with the exception of the slanted positions of the filters, which make them visible when standing in front of the stove. The unit is nicely made, well packaged and arrived in great condition. As other reviews note, removing the plastic protective film was frustrating and time consuming. On the plus side fan runs quietly and draws in smoke and steam effectively. The lights are bright. On the challenging side Installation was difficult because the unit comes with plug, and I do not have an outlet, just a piece of BX coming out of the wall under the cabinet. In addition there is no junction box inside the unit in which the electrical supply wires can be connected. To install the unit I had to cut off the plug and drill a 5/8 hole through the stainless steel at the back of the unit so I would have someplace to connect the BX cable. Cutting the plug and drilling the hole eliminating the possibility of returning the unit which I would have done for the following reason: The bad: the unit is designed poorly because the under side of the unit, containing the filters and lights slopes up from the back of the unit to the front. E.g. the part of the unit closest to the wall is lower than the front of the unit facing out into the kitchen. The unfortunate result is that when you look at the unit, especially when seated at the kitchen table, you are looking directly at the filters and bright lights. I have never seen an exhaust fan that is not level across the bottom thus at least partially hiding the filters. This is not just me being picky. Everyone who sees the unit sees the same deficiency. ... show more
