AGOAL 12 Egg Incubator for Hatching Eggs, Automatic Turner with Digital Temperature Humidity Control, 360° Clear View Lid, Auto Water Refill & Built-in Candler for Chicken Duck Quail Birds I decided I wanted to try a 12 egg incubator. I came across this little incubator complete with automatic turner, temperature and humidity control, and built in egg candler. So, I placed my order. Upon arrival, I was not ready to set eggs. But, I wanted to run it through a thorough testing. This way I'll know how well it holds temperature and humidity before it's time to set some eggs. Assembling the incubator is super simple and straightforward. The incubator has a decently sturdy feel to it. The fan, turner, and candler all work great. The water bottles fit and function properly. The control panel is easy to operate and pretty intuitive. The built in candler is functional and bright. Once I had it set up and running, the temperature rose quickly to 99° F. The humidity rose a bit more slowly, but it didn't take long for the control panel to show the percentage I was looking for. (If you use warmer water, it will reach stability more quickly.) >> NOTE: Be sure not to squeeze the water bottle as too much water will go into the reservoir and you may struggle with the humidity level for a bit. << This incubator seems to hold steady humidity and the set temperature. I have a mini thermometer/hygrometer which I put in one of the outer egg slots. It showed a slight variation in temperature, but this probably because the incubator reads from the center and the mini is at the outer edge. However, the humidity is reading about a 10% difference. It's easy to watch what is going on inside thanks to the clear cover. I added the second water bottle to simulate lock down. Once again, the humidity rose quickly. Although the vent has a partial cover inside, it doesn't completely cover the vent holes like I first thought when I noticed and the vent seems to work adequately. Cons: • The humidity reading is off enough that it's a concern. • The temperature is only Fahrenheit and cannot be set to tenths of a degree. So, if you want 99.5°F, you will not be able to set this temperature. • I don't like how the control panel removes from the cover. It has 4 plastic clips; these type clips are prone to breakge, especially over time. • The control panel cover doesn't break down easily which will make it more difficult to clean. We all know that chick fuzz coats the fan blades and finds the tiny cracks to sneak into. • There is no audible alarm. Not a deal-breaker, but it would be nice in case of temperature drop. This is pretty much a hands-off incubator. It does have some great feature and it is simple to set up and operate. Would I order another one? No. I think I'll stick with 18 egg incubators as the smallest ones I'll have. [My star rating is very heavily influenced by the difference in humidity.]

This gets five stars across the board. The directions were very good. Easy to follow, I had it set up in just a couple of minutes. The Turner worked immediately. It's a very simple design and as long as you read the directions, you should have no issues using this incubator. It's honestly very simple and definitely a plug and play design. One thing that I like about this incubator over some of my other incubators is that the LED lights showing the status of the incubator are actually lit all the time. Instead of going dark and you having to push a button to see them. That means that if I walk into the room, and my lights are out, I know that the incubator is on. A lot of my incubators have the LED lights that dim after a couple of minutes and the only way you can check them is to push the button or turn the lights on in the room. A lot of the time I check them in the middle of the night and don't want to wake my husband up. So being able to do so without having to turn on any lights or buttons it ideal. With a few of my incubators, they're in an area that is kind of dark, they are on the second shelf of my incubator table. Which means that I either have to get a flashlight or turn on the lights in the middle of the night just to be able to see how everything is going because I don't want to be just blindly pushing buttons. I love the fact that this one stays lit all the time. The directions are well written, easy to follow, and definitely explain everything that you need to do in a manner that is easy enough to follow that I believe even a beginner could do so. The Turner works well. The water bottles with the thing inserts into the machine work well. Clean up is super easy. This truly is my favorite Incubator design for a small Incubator.
