My old remote (left) had intermittently stopped working. And I was able to whack it on the couch or on my palm and get it to work so I let it go for a while. But it had become so bad. I bought this and then one day later it came. It instantly was paired to the TV when I put batteries in. But I followed the instructions and paired it through to settings menu. All the buttons seem to work and the TV is much more responsive in the UI than it was previously. For the money. This is the single best thing I could have bought for this TV. This is just the initial 5 minutes of having it. I don't know the longevity but so far so good. Long term: I will update here if there's anything overtime that changes. As of now 5 minutes of having it. It's a great remote. It looks identical (right) to the one before except the quick buttons are updated. For the money. Great purchase. Worked right away and use the same AAA batteries. Probably made in the same factory and sold under a different brand I would think. But I don't care because it works great. ... show more

This review is for the Samsung remote version of this listing. The remote was easy to pair and runs on 2 AAA batteries - it's not the solar charge/USB version. It does operate via Bluetooth so you do not need to point it at the TV, like the original. My only complaint is the Disney+ shortcut button doesn't work/isn't mapped. The other 3 are perfect. I am writing a review after we have had this remote for a few months and I definitely do not recommend to purchase this. I wish we had just spent the extra $20 and got the brand name remote even with fresh batteries. This remote does not work except for maybe one in 100 clicks I know it’s fully charged because the power button works perfectly normal, but we have had to resort to using the Apple cast function to watch anything ... show more

So far this works great! Paired immediately out of the box but the voice control wasn’t working so I repaired it by pressing back button and play button simultaneously for five seconds. After the tv told me it was successfully paired the voice control worked perfectly fine.
