I was wondering why there are two seemingly identical versions with two different prices. Now I know; the boards aren’t solid wood but manufacturer panels albeit sturdy. So, I installed it on the bed frame on top of the slats that don’t really support the mattress (hence this bunkie board). I must say that the board did make a difference and my 11 month old mattress does not sag anymore! I almost returned the mattress to Costco before I figured I should try the bunkie board. I suppose time will tell how the boards will hold up. I have included some photos.

Very solid- I bought the full size and it fit perfectly. Its not card board or solid plastic, I believe its MDF or a very dense particle board. Cover is kinda on the cheaper end but I think it will hold up well.

We have a metal bed frame, but over time, it just didn't provide enough support, and our king mattress started to morph and sag in the middle. This bunkie board was exactly what we needed! It has brought new life to our mattress and made the bed feel supportive again. INSTALLATION AND FIT The installation was very easy since the boards come fully assembled. The king size arrives as two separate pieces (likely two twin-sized boards). One thing to note is that the fit was a bit unusual for us—the boards seemed slightly shorter than our frame but also a bit wider. I’m not sure if I have them positioned incorrectly, but even with the slight sizing mismatch, they are doing their job of supporting the mattress. MATERIAL AND SCENT The wood feels heavy-duty and the frame is very solid. However, be prepared for a very strong "fresh wood" scent right out of the box. It’s a natural smell, but it is quite potent. If you are sensitive to smells, I highly recommend airing the boards out in a garage or a room with open windows for a day or two before putting them under your mattress. PERFORMANCE The difference in support is night and day. The bed is much firmer, and we’ve noticed it is much quieter as well—no more squeaking from the metal frame.
