I bought this 8” cast iron pan with glass lid for cooking, and it performs beautifully. It heats evenly, retains heat forever, and turns potatoes into works of art. What the manufacturer failed to mention is that the glass lid doubles as a highly effective anti-splatter shield during late-night home security inspections. When investigating mysterious bumps in the night, I carry the skillet in my dominant hand and the lid in the other, advancing cautiously through the hallway like a heavily armed breakfast enthusiast. The pan possesses the reassuring weight of a small moon. The lid provides excellent visibility while protecting against airborne hazards such as grease, dust, and startled housecats. Together they create a level of confidence normally reserved for medieval knights and short-order cooks. Fortunately, I’ve only used it for pancakes. It's a decent skillet. The thickness feels right for cast iron. It looks decent. The handle is comfortable for its size and it comes with a silicone cover. It comes with a lid, which is not something I would normally use with a cast iron skillet. You have to assemble the knob on the lid yourself but it's super easy. The Cuisgusto name is on the bottom. The name is etched, not cast. It says it is pre-seasoned and while it feels kind of carbonized it's not like the seasoning one would typically apply or build up over time. Who knows what they used to season it so the first thing I did was wash it and get to work on it. I've never had good luck doing dedicated seasoning routines with cast iron. I've always had better results just using the pan, cleaning it, drying it, oiling it, and heating it a little to drive off any residual moisture. Anyway I was able to cook 1 egg without sticking. The reasons I'm only giving 3 stars: 1. The description says "Double-Polished Mirror Finish." No. It's not. Just...no. In my picture I show it next to a recent make Lodge skillet, just regular plain jane Lodge. Lodge is known for the coarseness of their finish, it's one of the most common complaints you see about them. This pan isn't any finer polished than the Lodge. 2. It's not a great value at the current price of $23.99 for the 6" skillet. For that price you can get a 10" USA-made Lodge pan that's just as good. The Lodge 6 1/2" skillet is currently $12.95. To be fair, the Lodge pans don't come with lids or other accessories, but I really don't see that stuff adding much value. This is obviously a small skillet probably best suited for small portions of things like cornbread, pot pie, cobbler, etc. The pan is OK, it's the description and the value I take issue with. This little thing is a force to be reckoned with! I was absolutely impressed at how well it worked the very first time I used it (I made a breakfast scrambled egg/potatoes/veggies situation that was delicious!) It definitely heated up and cooked evenly and gave that perfect texture that only cast iron really can. Despite using what I thought to be a sufficient amount of olive oil, the eggs did stick pretty badly to the pan and it was a bit of a pain to clean, but I could easily chalk that up to my lack of expertise with cast iron skillet cooking. Even though it specifically says "6 inch" in its description, I was still slightly surprised at just how cute it is! That said, it still holds a decent amount of food and could be used for one or two people dependent upon what you're cooking and preferred portion sizes. Another great thing about this little pan? It comes with a silicone sleeve to put over the handle to keep you from burning yourself! ... show more

Hate this pan. It rusts sooo fast and needs to be oiled every other day while not in use not to mention it’s such a work out carrying this thing. Oh and the worst part is the handle gets as hot as being under flames even with the rubber handle cover which seemed useless to me either way. I had to give one star just to put my thoughts on this pan otherwise it wouldn’t even have gotten 1 star ... show more

This is a very cute small cast iron pan. I love that it came with a rubber fitted handle for heat protection . It also has a rubber fitted handle for the lid. It is very unique to find cast iron with a lid. It's perfect for cooking for one or anything small batch. I also love getting the benefits of cast iron with out the weight of a gigantic heavy skillet. It was easy to unpackage and assemble the heat protection. It's extremely durable. This cast iron skillet is so cute. It’s the smallest skillet I’ve ever owned. Despite being small, it is still weighty from the cast iron. It comes with a well fitting glass lid. I can grab the skillet, even when it’s hot, thanks to the included silicone handle cover. It also comes with a mini pan scraper. It’s a good quality item. It feels well made and made from good materials. After you condition it, it’s super easy to use. If you need a tiny pan, this is a good value and solid choice. I also appreciate the little spout on the pan. I can pour off liquids without making a huge mess. It’s perfect for a fried egg! ... show more
