This is a easy setup and does what I need it to. I gave a 4 star because there were no instructions on how to electrify it. You need to buy an energizer box separately. The two ends need to meet and you have to connect the two metal clips and then tie the strings together. The positive cable needs to clip onto the fence and then the other needs to be clipped to a ground rod. ... show more

This 2 Pack Premium Portable Pre-Assembled Poultry Netting Electric Fence is not made well or I got a defective fence which somehow went pass through low quality control because the fence wire was damaged and missing in multiple places. Those missing wire strands will not have conductivity so they will not work at all. I should not be getting a fence which I have to fix out of the box. Based on my experience I will not be recommending it. ... show more

    • Competitively lightweight portable temporary pen

I ordered two different sets of these to make a travel playpen for the dogs. Neither of them included the transformer for electrifying them, but that wasn't necessary for this purpose. The main benefit of these is that a much larger area can be fenced with parts that take up less space in the vehicle than the dogs’ metal panel octagonal playpen. These are also much taller so neighbors’ cats can't jump into the fenced area as easily as in the metal pen. That keeps the dogs from getting any unexpected “treats” when let out into the pen. The main difference between the two of these I'd ordered is that the other one's got brightly colored orange and yellow lines to make it easier to see so nobody runs into it if it's electrified. It has a tall empty space atop the poles for adding electrical wires while this one's green fencing spans to the tops of the poles. I prefer the look of this one since it almost blends with the yard and evergreens to look less like a random piece of fencing in the yard. These may not go far into the ground, but it could be a good idea to check with the “call before you dig" hotline just to be safe. I'd had an unmarked line in my yard not much further down that got cut during construction, so I prefer to be cautious. It's also important to check local codes as some locations might require permits or entirely prohibit electrical fences. ... show more
