To be honest, I bought this because of the bright colors and I wanted a mix of smaller reels for a couple spot prints. My first print on this came out absolutely stunning - colors were consistent, adhesion was great, no stringing, very little artifacts, and so on. I was really surprised as I had not heard of this brand before. Since then, I've printed models on my Creality K1 with six of the eight colors, and every single one was fantastic. Better than other name brands I've used. Definitely will be buying more of their filament in the future!

The media could not be loaded. Looks great. A little on the lighter green side. The video shows the exact color it is. I don’t recommend setting it at the max heat. As you can see my print got very stringy. After looking it up, I realized it was because the tempt was too high, so I had to really play around a lot with the temps and it seems that 226 is truly the sweet spot for this filament. 225 it was too hard and jamming up at the nozzle and 227 was still leaving strings behind. As you can see in the video, a lot of the too high heat left lots of strings but that’s all inside the dragon egg so I’m not worried about it.

Filament is ok. Sometimes it didn’t print smooth especially when using ironing for the top surface and required sanding.

I've used a few rolls of the DO3D silks in other colors and had excellent results. I particularly like the two-tone silks DO3D sells, finding them to print exceptionally well and have bright colors. This roll of Coffee Brown is a different story. There are several other user reviews with the same experience as mine. It simply will not get through a print without getting stuck. It's almost like there's a hard spot that won't melt correctly when it gets to the hot end. It will be printing fine then suddenly it can't extrude, you can hear the gears grind the filament flat as it tried to extrude. If you hit the end that didn't melt with a heat gun it doesn't behave like the same as the good areas. I was concerned it was my printer, and figured the nozzle must now be partially clogged, so I put on a new nozzle and tried the same file with a different filament, the 36 hour print had no trouble. I put this DO3D coffee filament back in and it failed in 2 hours. It appears that I got a roll of defective filament. I'm certainly nervous to buy another roll of the DO3D brand filament. This cost a lot of time and I suppose I'm stuck with half a roll of bad filament. I can no longer recommend DO3D silk PLA when people are looking for specific colors. Which is too bad, I've had a good experience with their pla in the past.

Very pretty pla. Prints good. I have a Bambu a1 mini and used hardened steel 0.4 nozzle. The caveat is that it is a very brittle PLA. I will admit this is my first time using a silk PLA so this may be normal, but I was shocked at how brittle it is, sonbe sure you have a substantial wall and infill. I would also suggest not using this for anything with supports. They were extremely hard to remove and required extra care and clean up due to the brittle nature. The supports mostly crumbled like ribbon candy. Again very nice and visually pleasing PLA, you just want to be sure you are cautious on how you use it.

Current Setup - Ender 3, standard hotend, dual gear extruder with Bowden tubes, magnetic removable bedplate. The configuration above works well. Using the default single gear Bowden tube setup on the Ender 3 would cause the filament to compress and then bind up in the hot-end and cause constant extruder skipping. There wasn't a method to adjust the extruder spring compression I could find and I ended up with a 90% print failure rate. I went through all the trouble shooting I could find online, and the only thing left had to be this material is somehow being compressed with the stock, single gear Ender 3 extruder and then not melting properly in the hot end. After switching to a dual-gear extruder, the filament flow is consistent and I've had zero issues after 10 hours of printing. The coloring is very pleasing to the eye and has minimal stringing. Print temps have worked in the 210-220C range with good success. Bed adhesion has been really good provided you've got a leveled bed and really zeroed in your z-offset. I'm giving this a 3/5 because I was forced to go through multiple days of trial and error, dozens of failed prints with stock parts, forced to take apart my printer multiple times to remove filament plugs that built up, and ultimately purchase a new extruder + motor with extended shaft to get this material to print properly.
