Any special settings for AMOLEN pla filament? AMOLEN Multicolor pla filaments are easy to use, just like other pla filaments. Recommend between 200 and 220 nozzle and 30-60 bed temp. New to 3D printing. what type 3D Printer will this work? can this filament be used on any 3D printer? Compatible with most of the FDM 3D Printer and 3D Pen. This filament definitely has a higher cost than other silk single or multi color-changing PLA, but we have found the increased cost to be justified by fantastic value and quality. The attention to detail we have appreciated: including a resealable storage bag, proper winding of the spools for problem free feeding, plastic spool (controversial, but we prefer it), accurate diameter for amazing outer surfaces, and overall nice packaging. This isn't a full review. We just wanted to point out some interesting things about the dual sided filament. Unlike filament that changes colors either gradually or rapidly, the two colors remain the same throughout the entire roll. The gradient effects seem to be based on the direction of travel of the nozzle. The samples in the photo and video were printed on the FLSun V400 delta style printer, but that shouldn't really matter in this case. One thing we've learned is to rotate your print in your slicer to orient your gradient where you want it. There is a center line where the majority color begins to transition to the other color, so you can get creative with orientation for very interesting gradients. If you noticed poor overhang on the bottom of the oinkarinas, that was due to printing too fast, as well as one of the two cooling fans was inoperable. We will be using AMOLEN for decorative/visual prints in the future if these qualities are consistent. ... show more

This PLA silk filament has a really unique look, I’d describe it as a muted silver rainbow with a glossy, almost metallic finish. It especially stands out on moving prints like fidget pieces, where the gradient shift really shows. Quick verdict: Great print quality and finish with minimal issues, just keep an eye on spool winding during your printing. ✅ What I liked: -High success rate. Even smaller, more fragile prints came out clean without brittleness or breakage. -Strong color & finish. Opaque with a smooth, glossy shine that really highlights the color transition. -Good bed adhesion. On a clean, smooth PEI bed, I didn’t experience warping or lifting. -Easy to print with. Didn’t require any major setting adjustments to get good results. -Minimal stringing: Very clean prints so far. (Recommended temp range: 210–240°C) ⚠️ Things to consider: Spool winding issue: About a quarter into the roll, I started noticing the filament loosening and unwinding on the spool, which can affect feed consistency if not watched closely. ⭐ Tips for use: -Because of the winding issue, I wouldn’t leave long prints unattended. -Check periodically during prints to prevent tangling or feed interruptions. ⭐️Best for decorative prints and display pieces. Fidgets, mechanical prints, and geometric prints where movement highlights the color shift. Beginners and experienced users both looking for a visually striking filament will likely appreciate this filament. Overall, this product delivers really nice results in both appearance and print quality. The winding issue is something to be aware of, but it hasn’t outweighed the overall performance for me. I liked it enough to purchase a second spool for once I run out! I’m using an Ender 3. The filament looks good when printed but there were a couple problems. I did not get any prints to look like the pictures from the perspective of the color and black being intertwined. It was either black or the color and my parts ended up with an entire black side and a color side with almost no mixing. I had one exception with the red/black did fairly well. The other issue I had was the blue/black spool wasn’t wound correctly. It kept snagging on itself while being fed into the extruder and this was on the very first print. It failed 6 prints in a row due to spooling issues and I finally just threw it away. All in all, I can’t recommend this product because it doesn’t look as advertised and 1 out of the 4 spools wasn’t wound properly. Other than that I actually do really like the colors. ... show more
