The 40mm/1.6" Hair Long Barrel Attachment fit my Dyson Airwrap HS05 without any issues. The aftermarket version is slightly different than the OEM, with the OEM the directional knob turns smoother, there is a inner piece that I think helps distribute the air flow and the overall build feels of higher quality. But for an aftermarket piece it's pretty good for the price. It curls well and functions as expected.

I have an older Dyson Airwrap, so the biggest upgrade for me with this PUREGUST long barrel is the ability to switch curl direction on one attachment instead of constantly swapping barrels. That alone makes styling faster and far less annoying, especially when the barrels get hot. It snaps onto my Airwrap securely with no wobble and feels solid in hand, very comparable to the original Dyson attachments. The longer 1.2-inch barrel works especially well on long hair because it wraps more of each section at once, saving time and delivering smoother, more consistent curls. The airflow grabs the hair easily and does most of the work for you, so there's minimal manual effort involved. I can get either soft inward curls or loose outward waves, and the curls hold well throughout the day without frizz. My hair also feels healthier than with a traditional curling iron, since there's no extreme heat. Is it identical to the Dyson barrel? Not quite. The airflow feels slightly less powerful, and the finish isn't quite as premium, but the results are incredibly close and more than good enough for everyday styling. Given the price difference, this is a very practical and travel-friendly alternative, especially if you want a single versatile barrel instead of carrying multiples. Overall, it works as advertised, fits perfectly, and delivers polished, salon-style results.

I tested this barrel alongside my Dyson Airwrap using the same sectioning and technique to see how it compared. The PUREGUST attachment is slightly heavier, but not enough to make a difference while styling, and it connected securely without wobbling. In use, the Dyson barrel pulled the hair around the barrel a bit more effortlessly, but the final results were nearly identical. The curls held well, had the same smooth finish, and didn’t require extra time or added passes. Heat distribution felt consistent, and there was no snagging or tugging. After a full styling session, my arm didn’t feel any more fatigued, and the attachment stayed comfortably cool near the tip. Based on the short testing period, this seems like a practical alternative for creating the same style outcome with only minor differences in airflow and wrap strength. If you’re looking for a compatible barrel that delivers similar results, this one performs as expected and produces a polished finish without noticeable compromises.
