Frequently asked questions

The TaylorMade SiM 2 Max Iron Set features several enhancements over previous models, including a redesigned Speed Bridge that supports better energy transfer and increases ball speed. It also has a Cap Back Design which improves stability throughout the clubface for more forgiving shots. The Echo Damping System is also a new addition, designed to reduce vibrations on impact for a softer feel without sacrificing distance.

The Cap Back Design in the SiM 2 Max Irons utilizes high-strength stainless steel and lightweight polymers to support the entire top line of the club. This innovation shifts more mass to the bottom of the club, lowering the center of gravity and promoting higher launch angles, better flight paths, and more forgiving shots, making it easier for players of all levels to improve their game.

The Echo Damping System in the SiM 2 Max Irons is designed to eliminate harsh vibrations at impact, thereby providing a forged-like feel in a distance iron. This is achieved through a strategically placed soft polymer blend and multiple contact points across the face. The result is a smooth and satisfying feel at impact, even on mis-hits, enhancing overall playability and comfort during the game.

Yes, the TaylorMade SiM 2 Max Irons are suitable for beginners as well as mid to high handicap golfers. Thanks to their forgiving design, including the Cap Back Design and a low center of gravity, these irons can assist beginners in achieving higher launch angles and more consistent shots. The Echo Damping System also ensures a more forgiving feel on off-center hits, making the game more enjoyable and encouraging improvement.

  • solid irons fairly forgiving, they hit the ball further if that’s what you want
Hand Orientation: Right Shaft Material: Steel Flex: Stiff Configuration: 5-PW, AW
I waited till the end of the season to write a review on these they’re solid irons. I’m still trying to get used to them from a set of Tommy armor’s from the mid 80s that I upgraded from the biggest thing for me was learning distances because the angle on the face of the blades is about two different from the set of irons I was used to. These go a lot further. My Tommy armor 855 nine iron was good for maybe 100 yards the shortest club in this set goes over 100 yards. I had to get some wedges to fill the gaps but other than that they’re solid clubs mostly just my learning curve. I noticed I hit him a little bit straighter and a little bit more forgiving than the old clubs. ... show more

  • Great Upgrade Iron Set!
Hand Orientation: Right Shaft Material: Steel Flex: Stiff Configuration: 5-PW, AW
These are great clubs. I was hesitant after some reviews showed a single club or broken items but my irons showed up in perfect brand new condition with no damage. I've used them for one round so far and they look and feel great. I think I've gained about 5-10 yards per club over my old Taylormade burner irons and the hit feel and sound is excellent. I would recommend these for a cheaper upgrade to a new set. I'm about a 20 handicap and these clubs are perfect for me. I do not shape shots so look at the P790's if you are that advanced. Don't miss the 4-iron yet but kept the old one just in case. Similar tech to the newest Qi irons. ... show more

  • Great set of irons!
Hand Orientation: Right Shaft Material: Steel Flex: Stiff Configuration: 5-PW, AW
I love the game of golf and play whenever I have time to. I was using a set of clubs that were not very forgiving before switching to the Taylormade set and boy what a difference it has made! I am getting more distance out of my irons and I also am more accurate. I am not where I want to be because I have to practice more but these irons are great! I may need to get them bent for my swing but other than that these are an excellent purchase! ... show more

  • Smooth
Hand Orientation: Right Shaft Material: Steel Flex: Stiff Configuration: 5-PW, AW
So, I'm in my late 30s and have been using the same set of used Red Bird irons I bought when I was in my late teens. I usually golfed 3-4 times a year. Now that it's become a weekly thing, I realized I needed to get with the newer technology and these came very recommended. I've only taken them to the range once (heat wave) and hit two large buckets. As others have mentioned, immediate distance added. Every iron has shifted up now: What was a 9 iron shot is now a PW, etc. They connect well, and sound good. I'm excited to get these bad boys on the course. ... show more

  • Good feeling irons
Hand Orientation: Right Shaft Material: Steel Flex: Stiff Configuration: 5-PW, AW
I found these irons to feel great when in the hand and swinging . They have a great contact sound and feel as well . They have a good loft and distance , may fall shorter than some other irons but seem more consistent than others when off center .
