- Lock feature allows you to slide the button to lock and unlock the arms of your machine. Use with the arms locked to gently pre-dry hair and create volume from the roots.
- Auto-pause occurs after three seconds of inactivity. Your machine will automatically pause to save energy. Simply move the machine to restart the airflow.
- Straightening from wet: Start with towel-dried hair and select Wet mode. Select maximum airflow and high temperature. Lock arms and rough dry the roots. Once roots are dry, unlock arms and select desired airflow and temperature. Straighten and style damp hair in sections. Straightening from dry: Select Dry mode to touch-up or refresh your style. Select desired airflow and temperature, Boost mode is available if required. Straighten hair in sections.

I got this for my wife to help with her hair for work, and it’s incredible. The fact that it goes from wet to dry with no hot plates means her hair stays healthy and doesn't get that "burnt" smell you get with traditional straighteners. It’s very fast and gives her a professional, sleek look in a fraction of the time it used to take with a blow dryer and a flat iron. It’s expensive, but when you consider the time saved and the lack of heat damage, it’s worth every penny.

This product is a game-changer for my fine, thin hair. I have long hair, prone to humidity and breakage, and it will not hold curls from curling irons. Regular straighteners tend to make it damaged from heat and stringy, and then greasy the next day. First blowing it truly, then straightening it, or doing a full blowout with the BondiBoost hair dryer brush for best results. The Dyson Air Straight is lighter than the BondiBoost Brush Blowdryer, leaves my hair shiny and soft, with a natural salon finish. I can dry and straighten my hair all at once, maintaining volume, no heat damage, and it accomplishes a great style within 30 minutes. That said, there is a learning curve. I find the machine is heavy (I have Lupus and Rheumatoid Arthritis), but lighter than most tools out there. It is bulky, and straightening from wet to dry is sometimes awkward getting my arm in the right position for the downward flow of the the air on the back of my hair, as well as switching from/to dominant arm's side. I like the fact that though bulky, the Air Straight has a wide coverage, so you can fit more of your weft into the tool, saving time. It was intimidating at first with all the instructions, but I quickly got used to the cool shot first at roots, then wet to dry, then cool shot to set the style. My only complaint aside from the weight and wieldability, is that it is difficult to get the roots. That may be on purpose in the design. I am glad I bought this instead of the Dyson hair dryer, and when it restocks, I plan to get the newest version of the Curling tool, which is lighter weight than the Air Wrap, and has a dryer attachment, as well as a round brush attachment. If you want salon results, and straighten your hair often, buy the Air Straight. You won't regret it, even at the high price. Don't buy the Dyson styling products, however. They are not worth the price, and I got better results with regular products.

They’re just are not enough words or time to convey how exceptional this hair dry/straightening tool is. It takes a little bit at first to get used to handling it as it’s somewhat awkward, compared to a straightening iron and a little more bulky after that, though it is literally smooth sailing!! Dries his hair fairly quickly and beautifully consistently comes out beautiful every time, and I can’t even sleep on it without needing to do any kind of touchup in the morning I wish this thing had been around when I was in high school spending more hours than I care to remember styling my hair every single day!

This works so well and saves me so much time postpartum. I have wavy blonde hair and have not noticed any damage with frequent use. The roots are a bit hard to get straight, but it is much easier to do when the hair is wet than dry. The dry boost is great for touch ups the next day.

Compré este producto hace 6 meses. A los pocos meses de uso, el ensamblaje comenzó a desalinearse y ya no cierra correctamente. Es un defecto de fábrica, no un golpe ni mal uso. Contacté a Dyson y confirmaron el problema, pero se negaron a cubrir la garantía porque estoy en Guatemala (no hay centros de servicio). También contacté a Amazon, y a pesar de ser un defecto de fábrica, se negaron a ayudarme porque ya pasaron los 30 días de devolución. Ni Dyson ni Amazon protegen al comprador. No recomiendo este producto si estás fuera de Estados Unidos. Es una lástima por el precio que pagué

The price just jumped from $410 to $549 in less than a week! I bought it at the end of Dec, 2025 for $410, incl tax. Today is the 2nd of January, 2025 & it's $549!! I do not recommend paying this higher price. I felt it was extremely high when I purchased it, but I like Dyson products so decided it might be worth the Cadillac price, but it isn't. It seems like a great product, well-made, but extremely heavy, awkward & the air only blows in one direction. To dry/style your hair your wrist is constantly turning to create the look you want. This is difficult to do while you're holding a very heavy cord with the battery (?) attached to the cord & the air only flowing in one direction. The entire product is heavy & there is a learning curve, unlike a normal hair dryer or flat iron. It was frustrating & didn't give me the look I wanted. So I'm returning it. I would price this product at around $250, no more.
