I am extremely pleased with this flat iron. I have very short, naturally curly (ringlets) hair but of course love to straighten mine. My hairdresser was the first one to use this flat iron on my hair and of course I thought I would never be able to get my own hair as straight and frizz-free even with the same iron. However, I found that this iron was indeed worth the money. I am able to straighten my hair in one pass, and it takes half of the time to do so than it did when I was using the ceramic straighteners I had before (I had sedu, sam villa, and ghd). I also purchased the BaBylissPRO Nano Titanium-Plated Ultra-Thin Straightening Iron, 1 Inch to test the difference because I saw such great reviews on it and figured that if the cheaper (BaBylissPRO Nano Titanium-Plated Ultra-Thin Straightening Iron, 1 Inch) one worked just as well I'd return the Prima3000. However, I found that it doesn't compare to the Prima3000. The BaBylissPRO Nano Titanium-Plated Ultra-Thin Straightening Iron, 1 Inch, while very light, isn't "heavy" enough to clamp my hair between the plates and so it takes at least 2-3 passes to straighten. It also doesn't come with recommended heat settings for hair types, and so when I initially had it on, I used it at a lower setting (25-30) but then realized it wasn't really straightening my hair so I upped the setting/temp a few units until it did, and realized it left the oh-so-unpleasant smell of burning on my hair. The Prima3000 has set temperatures (instead of sliding number scale of the BaBylissPRO Nano Titanium-Plated Ultra-Thin Straightening Iron, 1 Inch) that makes it easy for me to know what temp is best for my hair and NEVER leaves a burning smell on my hair. I will say that the Prima3000 is worth every penny and it makes straightening short, curly hair a breeze! The only thing about the Prima3000 is that you really must be careful about burning your body parts (ears) because the outside of the iron gets extremely hot (since it says this will allow you to curl your hair as well). It comes with a glove if you're paranoid and need to touch the ends (even though there are rubber grip tips). I never have the need to grip the ends as my hair is short and the weight of the plates alone is enough clamping power to pass the hair right through without catching. Best flat iron/ curling iron that I've ever used. Works great on my particular hair texture. I have heavily highlighted blonde hair. With the Babybliss I am able to set it to a true low heat so I do not damage my hair.

The media could not be loaded. Update: Please see my original review below. I made a switch to another popular flat iron about 2 years ago and forgot to update for you guys. This is still great for making your hair bone straight, so if that's what you're looking for, buy this. But, for my hair's health, I decided to switch. My routine is still the same except I do not need the cholesterol treatment anymore since my hair is in good health. I've made a brief video for you guys. I was trying to move without going out of frame, so please excuse the awkward movements. I wash and straighten once a week and only using pantene miracle rescue on the ends. This is the best hot tool I've ever purchased. First, the plates do not touch completely, but that's ok, my hair gets straight still and doesn't snag. To keep it working well you must clean the serums, etc off of the iron or the plates will separate from the unit. This is not a flaw in the product. You must maintain it as with anything else. I was initially afraid to buy this because some have said theirs quit on them. Thankfully, I have not experienced that.This works very nicely for my hair. I'm African American and my hair has a mixture of textures. My hair is natural and I keep it straight by straightening it once a week....and no, it does not damage my hair to straighten once a week. My hair is long due to the products that I use, this being one of them. I wash with V05. Then use a cholesterol treatment sometimes. After washing, I use generic it's a 10 deep conditioner from Sally's. I rinse that out and put just a dime sized amount of Chi serum on four sections of damp hair. While my hair is wet I dry with the Revlon hot air brush. Lastly, I flat iron with the Babyliss. I invested in this one which was a bit pricier. It was a great investment. My hair comes out very silky, light, and bouncy. I get many compliments and my hair is very healthy from these simple products. I hope this works for you as well.
