I connected this hose to my rain barrel discharge line and now I can pump rain water well away from my foundation and into the yard to water my trees. It seems durable as it has been in the sun all summer and shows no signs of deterioration from the UV rays or daytime high temps (highs in mid to upper 80s). I try to keep the kinks out of the hose and make broad bends around the 90 degree corners of my house. Even small kinks will disappear when the sump pump begins.

I've used many of the typical blue vinyl discharge hoses and have thrown them away after a few years because they degraded and split along the "side" edge. This hose is a massive upgrade to those old hoses because the hose made of thicker material and is also reinforced. It's essentially a economical version of a firehouse. Note that because of the build material the hose much heavier and takes more room to roll it up. Well worth the additional expense over the typical blue vinyl hose.

First thing, the chart they provide to help you choose the right diameter hose is crap. The hose was way too big for the pipe diameter I have and I even went down a notch from what was recommended. It still works, but leaks a good bit. Better too big then too small I guess. Next thing of note is that the hose is coated in something greasy and it smells like chemicals quite badly. I’m sure it will be off gassing for weeks. Also, I’d recommend wearing gloves when handling. First time I unwound it and discovered the greasiness and smell, I washed my hands and put on gloves. Since then I’ve washed my hands more times than I can count and they still smell of the chemicals. Overall it’s a well made hose, but why it’s covered in whatever the heck it is I can’t say. Just be aware before you handle it.

We needed a long hose to go from our pool to the front yard drains and this worked perfectly. Had a thinner hose prior and it leaked in the house when we were draining our pool..Just drained our pool a few months ago and this hose worked perfectly. It is much more heavy duty than the last hose.

This works for what it is: A water discharge hose. And it smells like cancer and chemicals and gasoline and it will make your hands smell. If you roll it up and put it in your garage for storage it will smell like a gasoline can leaked the next day. It gave me a headache within a few minutes, until I figured out what it was. I have no idea how long this will take to air out, or if it ever will or if I will just trash it and find a hose that doesn't smell awful if it doesn't stop stinking. If this can stay outside, it would probably be OK. If you are storing it inside, it will release chemical odor for an unknown period of time, and stink up the whole room.
