I love this thermometer, it gives very fast and accurate readings. I do a lot of baking and cooking. It also is magnetic so sticks to the fridge for quick, convient use. I would but again if needed. I'm going to guess that it's fairly accurate. I don't really want to buy another just to compare it with but if it's NIST traceable then I shouldn't have to. Reads fairly quick. Easy to clean. Easy to read. Much nicer than the analog styles.

An almost perfect combination of features with one unfortunate flaw. First, the good: 1) solid build quality 2) quick temperature readings 3) easy to read display 4) uses standard AAA batteries 5) waterproof 6) automatically rotating display is a fantastic feature That's a lot to love. However, the core function of this thermometer is of course to give ACCURATE temperature readings and here I've found it to be inconsistent. Sometimes, for example, it will immediately read the temperature of ice to be 32F, perfect. But sometimes it will read the temperature of ice to be as low as 27.9F, 4 degrees below its real temperature. I can live with a 4 degree margin of error, but for a thermometer that gives readings down to 1/10 of a degree, this is surprising ... show more

First day with it but gave it 5 stars because it feels better made than a $15 thermometer and when testing it in the ice bath repeatedly it was with 1 degree variation, the same with boiling water test. The boiling test showed slightly over 212F because it was a shallow pot and gained heat from the burner. But both tests showed fast, consistent, and accurate responses ... show more

I do not often write reviews. I never write them immediately after I receive a product. However, I received my instant read thermometer about a hour ago and just opened it up and everything about it was impressive and extremely functional for an exceptionally low price. I will get this out of the way that the instruction's typeface is a very small font and I an 63 but I don't think they will be needed anyway. Think iPhone. I extended the probe and the display lit up immediately. I closed it and it shut off. Very cool. I extended it again and the display came back on. This time I turned the thermometer upside down and the display rotated with it - what a great feature. I can see this being extremely useful for when you have to probe at different angles. If that wasn't enough, there is a lock button that will allow you to probe something where you cannot view the temp by simply pressing the lock button and reading it at your convenience. Finally, as I marveled at my new tool for upping my fried chicken game, I noticed the thermometer has two urethane pads so the thermometer will not slide on hard surfaces. Thank you Thermo Monster for letting me think that I am a genius for choosing your product. To anyone reading this review, this is the first instant thermometer I have ever owned. If all instant thermometers have these features and I am just unaware of it, then I still stand by my review that this thermometer is a great value. ... show more
