Description

The 4-slot ZWILLING black toaster ensures evenly browned toast, bagels, muffins, and more, every time you use it. The bread toaster has many amazing functions. This 4 slice toaster model features eight separate heating elements and balanced heat distribution ensure that every slice of bread is evenly toasted on both sides, even after repeated toasting. The result: toast that’s crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. And when it's finished, toast doesn't fly out of the toaster. The soft-lift feature ensures it gently glides up and the built-in extra-lift allows even smaller slices to be removed safely. Clean up is a cinch. Crumbs end up in the crumb drawer that slides out for easy removal. Even though this product is made in china, for a German-designed product, I expected above average design and above average ‘build quality’. The Zwilling Endinigy meets neither of these expectations The DESIGN QUALITY is certainly acceptable but falls short of the well- thought out products I’ve usually encountered from a German company. In this case the design shortcomings for me center around the materials used. I received the ‘black’ version of the product and found the combination of Matt black sides, shiny black top and bright chrome toaster slot unit to be uniquely difficult to keep clean and looking good. When I first unboxed the unit, I casually brushed away some light colored ‘specs’. Little did I know that the issue of specs of ‘stuff’, finger prints and smudges from nowhere, seem maddeningly attracted to the shiny black top and chrome toasting slots. The Matt black side panels seem fine and would have been a better choice for the top. The combination of shiny top and matt back sides does seem awkward. So, you can tell I care how things look and want to be able to easily keep them clean - no happening with this toaster. Regarding the QUALITY OF THE BUILD, the Zwilling unit seems no equal to our $29 - Krups Toaster whose untimely death after 20 years we deeply regret. There is a shaky, springy, metallic ‘feel’ to the toast lowering and ‘pop up’ mechanism - just like the $30-50 units we saw in stores. The shiny black top panel doesn’t align well with the matt back sides of the unit - another shortcoming that reflects poorly on both design and build quality categories. We really wanted to buy the incredibly- beautiful Braun Toaster, but sadly, it’s only available in the EU. We had hoped the Zwilling would come close. Not only does this toaster look very high-end, but it’s an awesome toaster. Easy to use, toasts to perfection, great that it has a cancel feature, and an easily accessible bread crumb tray. Love the matte black - and doesn’t show smudges or finger prints. Highly recommend this toaster!

This is an Amazon comment. We loved the toaster, but it arrived dented. I returned it immediately but it will be over a month before I receive the replacement. Cannot find anywhere on Amazon to question this delay. So very disappointed with this process.

This toaster is BIG. We wanted to replace two 2-slice toasters with one 4-slice. But I swear this toaster takes as much space as the two it was supposed to replace. Sent it back. Never used it, so I can't comment on it's performance.

I approached this rather expensive toaster with some hesitation. I'd had a Hamilton Beach for a decade that gradually failed to toast one side adequately, and then one day quit altogether, unless I was willing to hold the handle down through the entire toasting process. I read hundreds of reviews of other toasters, and so many shared my big complaint: One side browns, the other doesn't. Or, if you like your toast toasted, one side toasted and the other burnt. Ugh. I figured that if it took some more coin to find a toaster that consistently browned both sides as the setting indicated, it was cheaper over the long run that experimenting with a bunch of $20 disappointments. And in the comments I'd found online about this one, it toasts both sides about the same. Amazon had the best price, and Amazon always makes shopping easy. So, I plunked down the dough and went for it. And it's been soooo satisfying! My toast is beautifully, evenly browned with no burnt edges, no squishy places, just terrifically reliable toasting. It works great for English muffins too. It gives great chewy with crunch there. The toaster itself is beautiful. Understated, it blends in and compliments the rest of the kitchen like a nice piece of jewelry with a LBD. It's easy to clean, and the drawer type crumb tray doesn't flop open and deposit your crumbs across the counter or floor like the hinged types. It doesn't make that loud heart attack pop noise when the toast is up, so you need to glance at it occasionally while making the rest of your breakfast. It keeps your toast well until you're ready to grab it. The extra long cord is a nice feature, too; sometimes, counter space is iffy; and some toasters offer cords so short it's difficult to get them out from under upper cabinets. This one offers lots of range for movement. It's solid and distinctively beautiful. And long after I've forgotten what I paid for something, I live with how well it works in my life. Do I love it? Does it work for me? Does it make my life a little easier, a little better? Yep. It's just a toaster. But it does the job with real excellence. ... show more
