During initial setup this camera connected via 4G. I tested for about 2 days to make sure it was operational. Then decided to spend $20 for 1 month's added data. As soon as I spent that money the SIM card no longer would connect to anything. Keeps saying "Waiting to Connect". Why does the SIM stop working just after I bought into their data plan? Who knows, but it sucks! The camera connected and worked fine up to that point. I'm very disappointed in the camera for this reason. I'm thinking that I might just have to go to ATT and get one of their plans, with a SIM that would work with this camera to see if that works. Or I may just return it and avoid the frustration. They now have soaked up about 3-4 hours of my time and caused me to waste another $20. DON'T BUY! UPDATE: I also went to ATT and purchased a data only sim, along with monthly service for it. The camera would not recognize it. This was after the ATT tech folks trying to adapt the sim to the directions found in the manual for this camera. So my 1-star rating still stands!

Here is the situation that this camera helped me solve, perhaps it will help you as much as it did me. Several months ago we had storm in Florida named “IAN” It traveled across Florida, I happened to be out of town when it hit, and I have several cameras in and around the house ( in the house plugged in and outside they are solar operated ) so while everything was working pre storm as the storm kicked up power was taken out as well as the internet and then I was blind. Now here is why this camera is so fantastic – when the power was out for 4 days my wifi was out as well, so although the cameras were solar cell operated outside the house they had no way to communicate the internet because there was none and I had no way of seeing what was going on. Electricity and WiFi which are terrific when there is power and when there is an internet connection however when you have a storm that knocks out power ( and with it internet ) you can have the best cameras in the world if they operate on wifi you are blind. The simple solution to a (hopefully) rare occurrence—have a camera that can communicate with enough power to get a signal that can be viewed on the internet. THIS CAMERA FILLS THE NEED. This camera has the simplest and cleanest solution I have seen. 1) Solar power – this camera will stay charged as long as there is some sun, on really bright days it will keep itself fully charged and ready to go.. 2) communications, this camera is cellular with Verizon, and T Mobile and ATT availability. The issue for me is visibility no matter what, and while I hope we never have a storm like that again, I know the power or internet will fail at some point and now I can rest assured that I have eyes on the ground. This is a great camera !! Easy install - fast download of the app and .. and I am proud to say it is a real problem solver for me. I hope that this helps and gave you something to think about.

I am pleased with the camera itself, but I quite don't to understand why I have to pay about every two weeks for service to view the coverage on the camera. To view camera coverage, you would need to pay for service, which is fine (I knew that before purchasing the camera). But when I placed my order, which is supposed to be set up for monthly service, it worked for about two weeks, then it tells you it's "offline" and I had to make a new purchase. The monthly cost is not that much but adds up when you purchase every two weeks (the last time I checked it is four weeks in a month). Also, the price is different every time I make a payment. At this point, it is just a waste of time, and I wish I had known before I made the purchase. I would not recommend purchasing this camera, but their other camera works great, and I love them. Plus, you don't have to pay a weekly fee to view camera coverage.

Bought July 16th, worked great.. after the initial charge the battery lasted 3-4 weeks, 2nd charge was heading to be about the same when the battery started dropping fast then died, put it back out yesterday after charging and it was dead within 12hrs, solar panel is clearly just for looks as it did not extend the battery whatsoever. Expensive mistake having bought the camera and paid for 6 months of data to have it die in less than 2 months.

I bought two of these cameras, and one did not work. While troubleshooting the issue I switched the SIM cards and sent the wrong one back to Amazon with the defective camera. The SIM cards are locked to their own specific camera, and when I went to renew the monthly data package my SIM card's data would not renew and the camera no longer worked. I contacted support and Caitlyn worked with me to figure out what the issue was. She got my data charge refunded, and then worked with their tech support team to update my camera to the new SIM card. This was completely my fault, but they took care of me. I really appreciate this and would highly recommend purchasing from them after this experience. Out side of this, the camera works really well. The video quality is great, even though I'm in an area with only 1 bar of cellular service. The battery stays charged with the provided solar panel, and has never given me any power issues. Just on quality alone I would recommend this camera. The great customer service makes it even better.

We have had problem after problem with this camera. Just hard to connect and to read the SD card that comes with it. Have had it a month now still can't get it to read the card and we are paying 20 a month for the service plus 4 dollars for the cloud and still haven't got it to record when something is detected.
