I bought one of these to make sure it worked alright and then bought another a few months later after being satisfied with the first one. These cannot be beat for the price and the metal housing should be able to stand up to UV much better than plastic. Picture quality is on par with my OEM Lorex cams. Night vision tends to turn on a little early but it still has a good picture. No issues hooking them up to my Lorex system. Motion detection on par with my Lorex, which is to say I get a lot of fluttering moths. Honestly I don’t know if that is a function of the camera or the the recording unit. Be aware no data or power cables come with it. I will buy this again if I ever need another one ... show more

Well built with all metal body parts and a thick glass lens. Setup was easy; plugged right into my existing wired multi-camera DVR security system using standard NTSC analog video. Using the camera's setup menu and mini joystick was not necessary. I did not use/try any of the other video protocols. I bought this camera to replace a very similar model from another manufacturer which died after 4 years in service. The old camera had a 3.6mm lens and 1/3" sensor which resulted in a nice wide field of view, but has been discontinued. This camera also has a 3.6mm lens but only a 1/2.7" sensor, which crops a lot of the image and produces a significantly narrower field of view than what I had hoped would be similar to my old camera. Sensor size as well as the lens focal length affects the field of view. Fortunately, this camera uses a "board camera" style imager with a standard lens thread, so I was able to buy a 1.8mm lens for about $3 which screwed right it. This provided a much wider field of view, even more so than the previous camera it replaced, so I was happy about that. Note that to replace the lens with a wider one you have to dis-assemble the camera by unscrewing the from lens cover, remove (unscrew) the camera board, then unscrew the original lens from the board and screw in the new, shorter wide-angle lens. Focusing the new lens is easy - just plug the camera in and lighten/loosen the lens until sharp focus is obtained. Using a shorter, wider-angle lens also has the side effect that the end of the lens sits deeper inside the housing and some of the peripheral view is blocked by the lens shroud (the black ring that blocks the IR LED light from reflecting back into the camera lens). To remedy this, you have to raise the board/camera assembly about 1/8" higher in the housing using spacers on the mounting screws so that the lens end is closer to the glass lens cover. Night vision is pretty good although not quite as bright/sensitive as the old camera with the 1/3" sensor, and is a little bit grainier. Also note that when used with a standard analog video system, the native 16:9 wide HD image this camera produces is compressed into a 4:3 (standard video) aspect ratio, resulting in a tall, skinny-looking picture. Overall I'm pretty happy with this camera and would recommend it when it can be purchased for under $20. ... show more

Let 5 stars so this can be seen. The camera have good video quality but the app to view them on is slow and doesn’t work properly. What’s most frustrating is the customer service. The cameras are awesome, however, the software is COMPLETE junk. I have 6 cameras. I can't review "events" because no matter what I do with the settings (I only want them to record on sound or motion), the cameras record all the time. Searching through the timeline is a joke, since the video doesn't scroll along with the timeline so you have to stop it, wait for it to show the video, and see if you were lucky enough to have stopped at the moment you're looking for. I've tried literally every setting and nothing helps. Customer service? The email I got back was not helpful at all, in broken English and did not address my question. Is there phone tech support? Does anyone know if the cameras will work on another software platform? I'm getting ready to return the whole thing if not. ... show more

I use to install security systems for a living. So the picture is great and has low power consumption but they need to work on the app and the software for the PC is almost not useable. The problem with the app on a tablet is when you try to go wide screen never works right and lags real bad. But the most recent update fixed lag time on local network which is good cause I don't want it hooked online always. Why do you wanna eliminate lag because when your aiming on a ladder and has 10 to 15 lag time really annoying for installers and to monitor activity outside when you watching them on live view. But if you hook em up hdmi no lag works pretty good. ... show more

I love my zosi cameras! I had an issue where 4 of my ports went out on the DVR, 8 months after purchasing & install. Bessie at zosi took great care of me & sent me a new DVR. I returned the old one & she sent a newer model to me. Only drawback is i had to communicate by email but it was worth it.
