Top Amazon Reviews

  • Nearly perfect with two observations and service issues
The media could not be loaded. Sorry for the very long review, but this is what I would have appreciated to read before my purchase: 12 month edit at bottom. I purchased this stove on Monday, received it on Wednesday and installed it after work on Thursday. This was after many hours debating the merits of this stove and the relative unknown name of ZLINE. The lack of a large quantity and quality of reviews was not helpful as Amazon's community so frequently helps to guide my purchases. With that being said, I feel it worthwhile to share my thoughts and specifically address some of my unknowns going into this purchase. My summary is that this was an excellent decision and the overall quality of this cooktop is well worth the reasonable price. I was comparing it to similar models from Frigidaire and Capital. The Frigidaire was lacking the commercial appearance (same $$$) and the Capital was 60% more $$$. I had seen the Capital in a showroom and its fit, finish and feel is on par with ZLINE. My concerns before the sale included the grates, which are as solid as they appear in the pictures. Very commercial in finish and heft. They are cast iron, a bit rough and make me want to season them like a new skillet (not going there just yet). The grates are a nice low profile and their surface is about 1.25 inches above the counter top... very good compared to some vendors. One of the three grates does have a couple minor blemishes. One is a small pit and the other is a casting blemish on the inside corner (see pictures). I'm undecided about requesting a replacement (see below). Another concern was regarding the control knobs. The material of the knobs is a brushed stainless finish on what appears to be a cast metal. The weight is good and they feel substantial. Definitely not the plastics seen on some of the more residential cooktops. This is, however where i am taking off a star... The knobs have a spring under them to provide the resistance and return to normal position during and after lighting. The spring is in contact with the cooktop surface and makes a somewhat irritating sound when turning the knob. I expected total silence. The video clip demonstrates this sound well. I may get creative and experiment with some liquid rubber coating on the base of the spring. Edit: The photos on Amazon and the ZLINE website show silver colored disks under each of the knobs. They do cut down the sound, but they are plastic and just don't match the look and feel of the stove. I ended up removing both the spring and the plastic disks. The valve springs the knob back up just fine by itself and no more scratching sound. The sheet metal was another prepurchase concern, as I felt that this would be where a manufacturer would potentially cut some corners. While this is not 10 gauge stainless steel, it more than adequately supports the grates and doesn't flex dramatically when pressing in the center (like when cleaning). I don't think it would be reasonable to expect any better at this price point. After installation, all six burner lit flawlessly and do not appear to need adjustment. My gas supply is about 12 feet of 1/2 inch CSST (flexible gas line) coming off of a 3/4 inch black iron pipe. Under the stove is 48 inches of 1/2 inch flexible line to the cooktop. I share this only to conclude that this arrangement does provide adequate gas flow to allow all six burners to operate on maximum without any output changes. Important installation note: The instructions are almost worthless. They cover both drop in ranges and slide in oven/cooktops. They jump all over the place and do not provide guidance for the novice homeowner. The real kicker for me was that there is a very important washer that is required in the connection between the regulator and the stove. This little thing is found inside a cute box labeled "Propane Conversion Kit". I didn't even open it until I was troubleshooting the gas leak below. Be careful and triple check your connections. Shipping: I'm only one state away from the manufacturer/seller/shipper in Ohio, so the package arrived very quickly. The packaging was adequate and no damage to it or the contents occurred. Everything inside was where they placed it and there was good separation to prevent self destruction. As long as FedEx doesn't try to throw it over a fence, it should make it intact. Certainly a long term evaluation of this cooktop's performance would be helpful and perhaps I'll revisit this in a few months or years. Overall, however, I am highly recommending this appliance. Another edit: Shortly after installation, I noted the faint smell of gas and determined a leak had been missed during my initial hook up. It was coming from the connection between the regulator and the range's input. No amount of reassembly or persuasion would stop the leak. ZLINE was very easy to reach by phone, but they could not help with the leak or find a local repair company to service it. We ultimately agreed to return the range and I ordered a replacement. The return was simple and the new range dropped in as expected. The replacement range had no imperfections on the grates and looks perfect. I would have certainly liked to have had a better story to tell, but at least it ends well. 12 month edit: The burners output have been excellent this past year. The smallest burner (top right) is a bit too hot to only keep anything warm, but they make diffusers/spacers for that. My one problem is that I tend to go too hot on the front left burner with large pans. This pushes too much heat out to the edge of the pan and the result is that the stainless base of the cooktop is overheating and discoloring. This is, thankfully, hidden by the grate, but still a bit frustrating during cleaning. I've decided that this burner's maximum output is probably best reserved for the wok adapter, which allows the heat to rise up and around the wok instead of forcing it out to the edge of a large pan. Also, during the course of this year, I decided I did not like the sound of the spring scratching under the control knobs and resigned to using the plastic "bushings" that I mentioned above. They are not a complete eyesore, but don't exude "professional" like the rest of the stove does. ... show more

  • Nice cooktop
Nice stove top fairly easy to install instructions a little difficult to understand on how to Use the provided brackets to hold down the stove top I emailed the company and still waiting on a response and if you need a screwdriver to adjust each burner you should send a screwdriver because it’s not an every day screwdriver that anyone would have thanks ... show more

  • Very Happy with this unit
We have been using this unit for three months now and are very happy with it. It is a solid unit with three heavy, sturdy grates. We use it with LP and the LP tips came with the unit. The gas company changed the tips and adjusted the gas flow. We also like that there are six burners. This was wonderful over the holidays when we were cooking for 12 people. ... show more

  • Very satisfied
We were really looking for a range that would sit flush to the granite countertop, but they were $3,000 and a little bit more than we felt comfortable spending. After looking at several Brands we out there for the Z line, after installation we couldn't be happier it looks great.

  • Zline is amazing
I had to cut the opening of my granite. It was 1/2” to small on one side. That said it fit perfectly and it is a great cooktop. High end quality without the high end cost. I love this cooktop. And I recommend it to anyone who is interested.

  • Great customer service/atractive product
I shopped around for a gas top for my renovated kitchen. I felt that the Zline was the most attractive of the options out there. The price was in line with what I was seeing, maybe a little less. That said I made the decision to go with the Zline 36" gas stove top. I received my order promptly and it was installed. See pictures. (excise the metal artwork, it still needs to be hung). As mentioned, the overall look of the Zline stove is A+. We went from an electric to gas, the gas stove is a bit more to clean after a big cook, but appearance is well worth it: classy and elegant. We have been happy with the overall performance over the 6 months of use. We had a issue with the unit and contacted Zline. Zline customer service was great; fast and courteous. The issue warranted a replacement unit to be sent to us, which Zline did immediately. I was truly shocked by their professional, quick response to our plight. We had a new unit at our door in days! Rarely is there such wonderful customer service these days. SO, if you want a good, quality, stove that in my pinion is nice to look at, and is backed up by fantastic customer service and warranty... Zline is a great option...I speak from experience. Thank you Zline...I appreciate your product, and value your customer service. ... show more
