Is this camera compatible with the original DXR-8 (3.5" monitor)? Which systems does it work with? This add-on camera is ONLY compatible with the Infant Optics DXR-8 PRO (5.0" monitor). It will NOT work with the original DXR-8 (3.5" monitor). To confirm which model you own, check the label on your parent monitor unit. How many add-on cameras can I connect, and how do I switch between them? Connect up to 4 cameras total to one DXR-8 PRO monitor. Press the Camera button to switch feeds, or use Scan Mode to auto-rotate between rooms. Does this camera have the same features as the one in the DXR-8 PRO kit? Yes — identical to the kit camera. Includes 720p HD, night vision, remote pan/tilt/zoom, room thermometer, interchangeable lens support, wall mount, and power adapter. Should I buy this add-on or a second full DXR-8 PRO kit? The add-on is the smarter choice for most families. Monitor multiple rooms from one parent unit. Only get a second full kit if two caregivers need to watch independently at the same time. Is setup difficult? Does it pair automatically? Quick and easy — takes 1 minute. On your DXR-8 PRO monitor, go to Menu → Camera Control → Add Camera. Then hold the Pair button on the new camera until the light flashes. Done.

Love this monitor set up. Got another camera to add. Good quality and can hear and see everything well. Pricey but worth it because my monitor and camera set still works great 3 years later. It can withstand being dropped and still works great and hasn't fallen apart

If you're considering the Infant Optics monitor and have more than one young child or more than one room you need to keep an eye on, I recommend this add-on camera. My kiddos are 3 years old and 3 months old. Between the sharp picture quality, clear sound, zoom feature, and easy toggling between two cameras on one monitor, this camera/monitor setup offers everything we're looking for to keep an eye on our kids overnight and during nap times. This is closed circuit monitor and does NOT connect to your smart phone, which is exactly what we were looking for and isn't all that common in the baby monitor market. Setup takes less than a minute; just be sure to double-check that you're purchasing the right camera for the right monitor because you can only connect a PRO camera to a PRO monitor. The battery life for the monitor (sold separately from add-on camera) is decent, roughly 8-10 hours out-of-the-box if the monitor is in sleep mode. ... show more

Love this baby monitor. Purchased the original 4 years ago and it’s still going strong. Bought an extra camera for our second daughter and so happy we did that instead of investing in a newer system. This one is so easy to use and I love that it auto toggles between the two cameras now. My husband had it set up in less than 5 min. The battery life is great and the view angle is nice. We love this monitor! I am on my second one and it works great! Love that you can have 2 or more cameras connected to one monitor and it’s a great picture quality. And most of all it doesn’t use wifi!! The battery of monitor seems to last fairly long- I charge all night while using it and then use for naps and turn off when not in use. We bought this additional camera to add on to our Infant Optics monitor since baby naps in his crib in his own room during the day and sleeps in our room in his bedside bassinet at night. Now that he is going to bed earlier than us we wanted a second monitor to keep an eye on him (and we will use it when we have another child in the future hopefully). Some reviews said the add on camera is worse quality than the original, I disagree. I think the quality is the same which is very good. In my video camera 1 is the original and camera 2 is the add on we bought here from Amazon. It was easy to “scan” on the monitor for the camera and add it without any hassle. As you can see on my video it is easy to toggle between the cameras in the monitor. The noise reduction works well and the sound quality is good. I have no complaints about this camera or the original camera/monitor combo and am very happy with my purchase. ... show more
