  • On the go with Zizzo
Color: Yellow Size: 20 inch
After twenty years of wanting a folding bike, I finally purchased the Zizzo Ferro. It was worth the wait! When my bike arrived, I was relieved to see that it was clearly packaged with care. Minimal assembly was made all the easier with Zizzo YouTube videos. Unlike earlier models, the seat post was already installed, which was helpful. A bit of air to the tires and it was go time. It's not meant to go off-roading per se, but is perfect as a commuter - even on somewhat bumpy roads. This bike is wonderful, providing smooth rides that bring back that sense of two-wheeled delight, all wrapped up in a fabulous folding design. Highest recommendation! ... show more

  • Arrived damaged. Definitely read this.
Color: Black Size: 20 inch
Cant use it. Front chain ring is severely damaged. Chain jumps off. I was also under the impression it had a replacable deraileur hanger. It does not. Its one of those nasty tourney deraileurs that bolts onto the axle. Im very dissapointed. I will be contacting their support. UPDATE 1. i contacted support and they seem understanding. In the meantime i was able to tweak the sprocket into close to true. It is rideable now but gear 1 is unusable. Notes from ride: it rides fine. Better than you would expect. I ride it on hard pack dirt roads and pavement. I weigh less than its capacity so im probably not stressing it too bad. It cruises good in 5th gear. Around 10 mph. Everything but the front sprocket arrived in adjustment. It folds well. Its probably the best bang for your buck in a folding bike. My use case probably isnt ideal but its holding up. Im pretty nice to it so ill see how it holds up. So far it is ok. Just know if you ride it on a dirt road you will have to take advantage of its maneuverability to avoid rocks and potholes. Choose your line carefully. Put a springer seat on so the bike doesnt have to absorb as much force from bumps. And treat it more like a carrier deployed f14 than a b52. Its light duty. Not for pulling big trailers or carrying lots of weight. If your nice to it it should always get you home. Its also a bit bigger than i thought it would be. The handling is.... twitchy. But ive only had it a week and im pretty much used to it. Cable management of on board features like the shifter and brakes is well done. Folding mechanism is intuitive and easy. I would say just know what your getting into and that it has a cheaper deraileur set up than the picture suggests. But it still works. Mosty. Update II: i contacted their warranty department and they are gonna send me a new part. Their customer service is why i would rather go with one of these instead of anything else. Its pretty slick and their customer service is pretty legit. I would buy again. ... show more

  • For the price a solid bike
Color: Yellow Size: 20 inch
First off I'm a been a mountain biker for 30 years and don't think a mtb gets good till $4k+. And this bike is not mine but bought as a gift for my brother in law. My brother in law put this bike together fairly quickly and easily. I was amazed how in tune it was out of the box. It needed no adjustments to the shifters and a quarter turn to get the front brake centered. It pedaled and shifted smoothly. Steering is sharp which is to be expected and the wide tires made for a smooth ride. Its a bit hefty, I did not put it on a scale but it felt well north of 30lbs. It is no Brompton but for the price I think its well worth it. My only con is weight. ... show more

  • 6'2.5" (189cm) 220lbs (99.5kg). Fits great!
Color: Black Size: 20 inch
This is an initial review. I am a large/xl guy, most things fit just slightly smaller than I need, the Ferro is slightly over, this happens on less than 5% of mass produced products I buy. So far I have very comfortably left the seat and handlebar posts between "max" and "1 notch below". Thank you to the Zizzo engineering team! The box was over-packed, if anything, which is great. The bike itself required minor adjustments, almost all of which were covered in Zizzo youtube videos, far less than I expected (slightly loosened handlebar locking mechanism, derailleur, inflate tires, tightened breaks after first ride, adjust handle bar grips for straighter wrists). This is the economy model for zizzo, so my thought process is to slowly upgrade overtime. I ordered a magnetic closure, to keep it folded, with the initial purchase and would highly recommend it (if its not included). **IF YOU ARE SENSITIVE TO SMELLS there is an "out of box" odor that is slightly noticeable in my poorly ventilated studio apartment, it was far less noticeable after the first hour I had it outside.** **As far as I can tell the included tool CAN'T make all the adjustments I personally needed out of the box, I used a philips head screw driver to adjust the reflectors, and an allen wrench to adjust the handlebar post locking mechanism. However, there is a label on the bike that says to get it adjusted by a professional, so I will not dock them, plus this is about the bike and not a "free" "multitool". The included tool looks cool, but could easily be more functional with phillips and allen heads on either end** 5 mile edit: The bike broke in nicely. Very comfortable for the size of wheel and the seat is better than I thought it would be. It handled small town off-streets/gravel rail-trail/hilly park-track very well. I did try full speed/7th gear/hardest peddling/high handlebar torque, on the town sidewalk/railtrail/park track at various points(uphill and down); if you are my size (+6' +220lb), then please know this is not going to be a bike that you can rip through an off road course on at full speed AND keep the bike forever, it certainly seems like it will hold up to it occasionally though. I think I got the last of the 2020/2021s and the 2022s claim to have a stronger frame so these issues might be null. Here is how I would rate the Ferro in straight comparisons. To my +30 yr old Gary Fisher with mods(10/10): Ferro is (5/10), these bikes really arent comparable. Full frame "big box" bikes ive ridden(6/10): compared to Ferro (9/10). Expectations for Ferro based on reviews and youtube (8/10): reality of Ferro for use case(10/10). ... show more

  • Lasted only a couple of times - flimsy gear shifter
Color: Yellow Size: 20 inch
First impression was pretty good. Easy to fold and unfold, fits car trunk easily. Looks nice. Frame design is actually nothing unique, it goes back to 1960s and even earlier days, but most important it works. However the main issue was a gear shifter. Mine didn't last long. It performed fine only on a flat terrain here in South Texas. Had just a couple of 25 mi rides here, no issues. But it failed miserably on a first day out of state in some hilly terrain. Flimsy gear shifter just broke when I was going up a moderate hill. It was nothing special, but this gear shifter couldn't handle that. Super low quality metal. And unfortunately I had to abandon the bike on a side of the road and walk 11 miles back. ... show more
