Description

Can I remove this fence? This fence is designed to be permanent once installed. It's theoretically possible to remove it using specialized hydraulic equipment, but it's not recommended. How do I install this fence at angles other than 90 degrees? You can angle this fence by using generic hinges purchased at the hardware store. How strong is the fence? In field tests, provided this fence is installed properly in normal ground conditions, this fence is just as strong - if not stronger- than traditionally installed fence with concrete footings. Our wind testing certification proves it. Is there ground conditions where this fence won't work? This fence is not recommended in soil that is rocky, swampy or sandy deep down. It works well in hard dirt or clay soil. Please see our knowledge base for an article on how to test your soil, or call WamBam directly.

    • Can be racked with routing and angle cuts

Materials are of good quality. I originally felt this not right product due to my sloped lot- I did not want to build horizontal sections with stair steps per instructions but rather wanted to rack the fence, which instructions discourage (due to extra work). I found top holes on crossbars could rack up to about 10 degrees, which is about my maximum slope. The issue becomes enlarging the bottom hole of top rail, in my case about 5/8”. I built router jig shown for enlarging the 143 slots in 13 panels. With tool it went fast. With varying slope each section was scribed with angle cuts made on chop saw. Care must be taken in spacing as the pattern repeats every 6”. If you are shorter than 6” repeat, you end up with partial slot exposed on either end; if over 6” repeat, by centering, the distance from outer pickets to adjacent post becomes less, which might look a bit odd. Also, brackets designed for 90 degree attachments, but by angling ends to meet vertical posts, they still seem adequate for holding panels in place. Anyway, racking means extra work and care, and I would suggest it is more pleasing on constant slope of 10 degrees or less, and not undulating ... show more

    • Great fence
Color: Newport Finishing Post
This post is necessary to end a section of fencing as each fence section you purchase includes only one fence post and eventually you’ll need this one. The fence is simple to install, sturdy, and looks good. The instructions are exceptionally clear and easy to follow. If I were looking to purchase another fence I’d look first to Zippity Outdoor products. Very satisfied. ... show more

    • Good product
Color: Newport Finishing Post
I use this at the corner of my driveway to keep delivery guys etc. From constantly going onto my grass and running over my sprinkler heads. Good appearance, easy installation, (been hit once) minor bend but still standing. I highly recommend this product.

    • Best post holder I have ever seen. They worked beautifully.
Color: Newport Finishing Post
I didn't want to mess with cement for only two posts, and this was the perfect answer. We have had winds up to 60 MPH and they are still standing. I just love my fence that I was able to put in.

    • Great fence, excellent company
Color: Newport Finishing Post
First off, the fence is as beautiful in person as it is in the photos. If you do your homework before installing (read the instructions and watch the videos), the project will turn out fantastic. I highly recommend using a post pounder vs. sledgehammer to install the metal posts, and definitely use a level to check the posts and rails. The self-tapping screws work great on the vinyl, not so much when screwing into the metal posts. Fortunately Zippity includes a metal drill bit with every fence section to make it easier. Best of all is the company, which firmly stands behind its product. One of the vinyl posts was damaged in shipping and they promptly sent me a replacement, as well as extra parts, at no cost - I didn't need to go through an Amazon return. If you're handy, I highly recommend buying this product and installing yourself, and/or get someone to help you who is handy. The finished product is amazing, much better than a wood fence. ... show more
