I ordered the single 24" fence post anchor ground spike. What you receive is the spike itself, a nice basic instruction sheet (which has an e-mail address and international phone number you can use for more information or questions); and a bag with 8 wood screws and the drill bit attachment that fits the screw head (so you can use your power drill to fasten the screws). The stake is designed to receive a 4" x 4" post (which actually measures around 3.5 x 3.5 inches. The stake is easy to use as you simply position it where you need it, make sure it is straight (suggest using a level), and the pound it into the ground. You can then install the post and use the provided screws to secure the post. I suppose you could also use the stake in a concrete footing (position the stake where you need it and pour the concrete around it). I think you just have to keep in mind the realities of what you are using the stake to do. By that I mean if you are using it to hold a 12 foot tall wood post which is the corner brace for your deck or fence you may want something that gives you more than 19 inches or so of a stake in the ground. If you are using it for intermediate posts that have other horizontal support you would be fine.

These appear to be very sturdy and well-made. I didn’t have a mallet or sledgehammer handy, so I grabbed a piece of scrap wood and started whacking. Very professional, I know. 😄 I was pleasantly surprised by how easily it went into the ground and even more impressed that it stayed straight and sturdy without bending or chipping the paint. The fit on my 4x4 post was perfect. It’s deep enough to securely anchor the post, but not so deep that the post disappears halfway to the center of the Earth. Installation was straightforward, and everything felt solid once assembled. My only disappointment had nothing to do with the product itself. My project required a second post, so I went back to order one more and discovered the single-post option was no longer available. Instead, I had to order a three-pack. On the bright side, one post plus three more equals four posts, which means I now have enough for both ends of two different projects. Apparently the universe has decided I need more projects, which is both exciting and slightly concerning. Final Verdict: Strong, durable, a perfect fit for my 4x4 posts, and able to withstand my highly scientific installation methods. Just be aware that availability may turn one project into two. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐🔨😄🌲

This 4x4 post anchor is a durable, solid and sturdy anchor with ground spike. It measures 24" long from top to bottom with 20" from the bottom of the base to the bottom of the stake. It is made from high-quality carbon steel with a nice and consistent black powder coated rust and corrosion resistant finish. For $35, this post anchor is a good value for the money in my opinion. It includes matching black screws and even a drill bit for a quick and easy installation process. It is a versatile post anchor that can be used for a mailbox post, fence post, deck post, and more. It measures 3.5" square to accommodate standard USA 4x4 posts that fit perfectly in the base. It is simple to install using a sledgehammer and makes for a secure post holder. I feel like the Goldilocks of fence post spikes. I bought one that is 36 inches longs, and it’s too long. I bought another that is 16 inches long, and it’s too short. I bought this 24-inch spike, and it’s just right! After performing a price comparison with the big box stores, I found that a 24-inch spike can be found for around $20. That would give me pause when considering this product. These can be pounded into the ground or set in concrete. There are eight screw holes (screws included) to affix the 4x4 to the anchor. The instruction sheet also includes instructions on setting this in concrete. This 4x4 anchor fits 4x4 nominal dimensions, which means a 3.6 x 3.6 piece of lumbar. It fit a stock 4x4 perfectly. Nice product, but too priced higher than I am comfortable with.

I am setting up a junction box out in the back 40 and this is the perfect support for a nice 4x4 post to hold everything in place. Would be great for other things too like a mailbox post or other support that needs to be sturdy but doesn't rise to the level of a builders tube and concrete. The metal is thick, solid and well-coated. Easy to pound into the ground using a scrap of wood to protect it from hammer dings. I doubt it will penetrate rocks and big roots so keep that in mind, you may need to run some rebar down first to make sure the coast is clear.

The post fit snugly after a small amount of trimming at the base and anchored securely in the ground. The drill holes were accessible and aligned perfectly for decking screws. Hardware included. The anchor had no imperfections, was easy to remove and reposition, and kept clean, level lines. Instructions are clear with manufacturer satisfaction offered. The price is competitive for its quality and durability.

I've owned a few different styles and brands of ground-spike post anchors. This 24" fence post anchor in black fits much better than others. I dry fit a kiln dried redwood post to test. This fence post anchor is nice. It comes with matching wood screws and a bit. Its easy to (sledge) hammer into the ground, if you follow the instructions it comes with. Great design, holds strong and good price. I used it on a railing not a fence post but should work great eitherway.
