Daughter has a loft bed and kept pressing the mattress through the middle support. We couldn't get a box spring as the mattress would then be over the safety rails. This low profile slap is perfect. I got this because I want to store clothes in the bottom of this trundle bed and some of the slats were broken. (We actually removed the slats to the actual bed because it had several broken slats). When I laid it down I thought, wow, if I needed another one of these it would be nice. I like that it’s heavy enough to feel firm and it would be very good. We have replaced slats on the top bed several times because they kept breaking. This is a guest bedroom now but I’m thinking of buying another one because it’s a good price and it definitely feels like it would be good to reinforce a bed if you were worried about weight. (Like these days beds that are supposed to be weighted for adults but keep breaking with my 70lb child.) ... show more

    • Added much needed support to canopy bed

We got a new canopy bed for the guest room that is seldom used. The bed had metal poles going side to side and it left the memory foam a little too soft. It also made me worried that the foam would break down prematurely. I put these slats over the bottom frame and VOILA! Perfect fit, plus a lot more support! Now it doesn't feel like you will sink into the bed and possibly down onto the metal poles. The bed is still really soft but so much more comfortable and supportive, It DOES slide on the metal poles and it did make it so that the mattress also slides now, but I am going to add a flannel sheet for grip. At this price, that is not a detractor for me at all. A little slip is fine, and I am certain I can fix it without spending more, so I do not care ONE bit! This is a SUPERB buy for me. ... show more

It does exactly what it is intended to do but it is much easier to use than anything I have ever seen in bed boards plus it is easier to ship. It was much easier to place than unwieldy bed boards.     • Solved our problem with a sleeper sofa

I bought these to make a sleeper sofa more comfortable. As always, our guests were feeling the horizontal, metal bar underneath them, just under their shoulder blades. And their hips were sinking down into the middle of the mattress, leading to a curved spine. Our sleeper sofa is a "queen" size, 64" x 72". Since the wooden bed slats don't come in a queen size, we bought TWO of the twin size slats. We slid them between the sleeper mattress and the metal frame of the sleeper. They fit perfectly! If they were too wide anywhere, it would be easy to just slide a few of the slats closer together. It's important to note that these slats run VERTICALLY... i.e., they run from head to toe. This is what made them so helpful -- because the metal bar of the sleeper sofa is horizontal, so these bed slats keep the mattress (and our guests) off of the metal frame. They distribute the weight of the mattress and the persons evenly across the entire frame. The slats actually arrived while a guest was staying here, and she said that her comfort level was much greater once the bed slats were under the mattress. I'm very pleased. I only gave them "4" stars for their sturdiness, because the wood slats are somewhat flexible and can bend. But they are encased inside a pretty sturdy fabric. I'm glad these are available because if they weren't, I would have had to invent them. ... show more

The material is Ok but is is hard to remain steady/fixed under the mattress. They keep wobbling and creating a gap by the sides. I wish they came with valcro to keep them in place.

    • Provides solid support under the mattress without a boxspring

This is the second time I have purchased one of these, and it was my satisfaction with the first one that prompted this second purchase. Bed frames that are designed to use without a boxspring are great, but after a while, the mattress begins to "squish" down through the metal support bars. Also, tucking the sheets and blankets under the mattress at the foot of the bed does not work very well in that scenario. The 'bunkie board' gives the bedding a place to stay put, rather than falling through the metal bars supporting the mattress. It's a great product that works exactly how I need it to work, AND I got it at a great price -- better than when I purchased it the first time by quite a bit. Does not disappoint.
