I’m back to review the mattress 18 months after purchase. We bought it while I was 6 months pregnant because I needed more support. This mattress is definitely on the firmer side which is awesome because that’s exactly what we wanted. My husband has back pain and he loves this mattress too. To paint a picture, my husband is 300lbs and after 18 months you can’t tell which side he sleeps on. There is no dip, no sagging, nothing. The top is also perfectly good, like new, no stretching or pilling. As I mentioned earlier, we had a baby on the way and after she was born we decided ti cosleep. This mattress is firm enough to be safe for babies which is a huge benefit. Overall the mattress is comfortable, good quality and was worth every penny.

This is the 2nd Zinus mattress I've purchased and I will stick with this brand. I used the previous mattress for a year then needed to switch from a king to a queen when we moved so I purchased this one to replace it. But I feel the construction of these beds will last several years and the quality for the price is excellent. I bought the Zinus 14 Inch Free Standing Smart Box Spring/Mattress Foundation/with 9 Support Legs to go with it so I don't have to buy another one for a long time. It also adds stability to reduce motion transfer. I'm a light sleeper so that's very important to me. When I opened this one I did so by myself and when I unrolled it I found it was upside down. Being a queen it was a little tough to flip over on my own so I leaned it at an angle for a bit while maneuvering. After that there was a large bulge. All I had to do was shake it out a bit and smooth it out like it was dough and it went right back to normal. Neither mattress I purchased gave me any lumpy issues like some reviewers have had. This mattress is very firm, firmer than the other one I bought and not quite as "luxury". I've learned I prefer a 14" deep mattress. That being said, both my husband and I have a lot of back pain and after a week it has reduced that by 75%. I guess the other one was still too soft as we had some pain, but it was super comfortable. I alternate from side to back sleeping and have noticed I stay on my back more with this mattress. I may get a mattress topper to add a little more cushion since there isn't a ton with this bed but at this price that's fine. Neither bed has much motion transfer and the sides are firm enough to sit on without much sink to them. Overall it's a good mattress and a good brand. I think the most important thing is to know what level of firmness you need and research the different models they carry before you buy. Then you can't go wrong.

I bought this in size twin a year ago because I was living in a small room. It was indeed extra firm so I bought a topper and I figured because of the low price it wouldn’t last long. I’ve bought IKEA mattresses (around the same budget) and within 3 months there was sagging/ sinking so I expected to get the same quality but nope. Had this bed for a year and NEVER sagged! Firmness stayed intact and looks like a luxury mattress! Win win. Fast forward a year later, I moved into a bigger place and could buy a bigger mattress so I decided to give away this twin one and spurge on a more expensive mattress. What a mistake that was! I tried the purple ($1100), the winkbed firmest option ( $1300) and both mattress I would sink in and be sleeping in the mattress versus on top. The purple I kind of expected it because it isn’t advertised as firm but I was intrigued by trying a new material. My friend has the purple and loves it but he likes medium firmness. So nothing against Purple, their customer service was fantastic! The mattress has a very interesting feeling when sleeping on it. They do have other more expensive options and their customer service is great so I’d definitely recommend them. Now as for Winkbed, stay away! With their advertised “firmer mattress” I was sinking in as soon as getting it, I waited days hoping it just hadn’t decompress and nope, it has gotten worse. So bad that I’m taking painkillers everyday to deal with the body aches of sleeping inside the mattress. The company although they advertise a “say nothing and get a refund” I have been emailing them explaining my situation for days, and they have yet to process a refund. They give me copy-and-paste like responses that have nothing to do with my issues like saying it will get softer in time when I’m not saying it is hard, I’m saying I’m sinking in. So how will it getting softer help me? So my experience with Winkbed customer service have been awful. No empathy, no responsibility (think they sent a defective mattress), and not keeping to their word. Also, I tried to leave a review on their website and you can’t. So makes me wonder who can leave reviews on their site? Anywho, stay away. After two failed “splurge” mattress purchases and one awful customer service experience (Winkbed), I decided to go back to the bed that was truly firm! Sometimes the “you pay what you get for” isn’t true. I got a way better, true to firmness, no sagging price at 1/4 of the cost with this mattress! Save yourself money, if you need a true firm mattress, and get this mattress. Recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

It's been almost two months since I started using this mattress. Now I can write a review because I have "tested" it long enough. I spent a long time researching about mattresses and comparing them - online and in stores. By the way, the reviews here on amazon were very helpful! So, I purchased this Zinus Extra Firm iCoil 12 Inch Support Plus Mattress, Full size, and I am happy with it! 1) Firmness: it's really extra firm - if you are looking for a firm-firm mattress, this is one. If you want firmer than this one, you'd better sleep on the floor on a Yoga mat! Understand that this is not "hard" like wood, but firm - with some cushion, of course. I got the 12" high because I wanted that extra 2" padding - by comparison, I understood the 10" high could be somewhat harder, for not having the extra density foam on top. You can compare both pictures of the product, the 10" and 12", and you'll see how the 12" can offer a little more softness to the experience, without, however, making the mattress "soft" and making you sink in it. 2) Formerly, I slept on a Tempur-Pedic and I did not like the memory foam. It sunk too much on the hip section and to turn was a sacrifice, especially with lower back pain. In comparison, this Zinus mattress is therapeutic! It does not sink at all! It does give in a bit, which is normal and desirable, for it's not a piece of marble we are sleeping on. But that's it! I don't wake up in the morning with sore body parts anymore and turning over is now a breeze - I don't need a crane to pull me out of a mattress rut anymore! I'm a back and side sleeper, and the density of the top foam plus the firmness that the coils provide underneath are just perfect. 3) I had to fuss around with the right pillow, though. My former pillow was no longer appropriate to give me a good rest without cervical pain, because this mattress is firm and if the pillow is too thin or under filled, it gets a little hard on the neck and back of the head. Also, my shoulder doesn't sink as much in this mattress when I sleep on my side, so I needed a higher and softer pillow to accomodate well my head when side sleeping. It took me a while to figure out the right pillow, but that was not an issue. I'm happy now! 4) Quality: This is a very well constructed mattress. I haven't found any defect in it, whatsoever.

Update - After 1 week! It has lost some of the firmness it had in days, still with discomfort on lower back and tightness, really tried to give it a chance, but if you are a stomach sleeper and used to really firm mattress, is not for you, this one will give in to body impressions if in the same spot for a long time (waist) I emailed custserv and they replied to please start a return process with Amazon directly since they were the ones that sold the mattress. Original: I started looking for mattresses since my 6yr old spring Serta Firm was feeling a little soft but I didn't want to spend $800 on a Serta memory foam mattress without knowing if I was going to love/hate it. So researching I got to this Zinus, all the specs seem right and what I wanted for tryout I ordered a Full size, got the box as the pictures from other reviewers, mine looked like a tootsie roll, the UPS guy wasn't that strong and threw the box out of the truck and rolled it to the hand dolly! it did nothing to the mattress it self, so you do need some time of help to move it around. Once opened and removed from the plastic, it does get to 8" fast because of the coils, but foam still compact, there is smell if you leave it on a closed environment and for the first 12 hours, after the 1st day there is nothing much unless you are very sensitive to smell. I left it 48hrs without using it, got to the full size at that time.. Now, If you read all the reviews from here like me, there is always doubt of firmness, looks and likeness because at the end of the day all of us are different, some say is medium-firm and others extra firm.. to me it is a 4 in 1-5. I will not put a 5 to a concrete floor because I couldn't sleep in a concrete floor like the others, not even in carpet because the next day something will be hurting just because the weight pressing down. this is not as firm as my spring mattress and mostly because the foam molds to the body while my old one did not, example yesterday was watching a game, stayed at the same spot for a couple of hours, the mattress shaped about half inch as my body, then moved around, when came back to the old spot, the foam fell like new, that's how I read is supposed to be. Still have not adjusted completely in 3 days and wake up moving around to different spots until my body readjusts to it, I'm a stomach sleeper so we tend to move more. I feel about 1 degree hotter on it than my old mattress, nothing major because I lower my AC to 70 from 72 (Miami) and does not bother me, I like cooler nights better. There are some that are very firm, because of 8" of high density foam only, no padding or extra comfort foam but again, nothing great under $700 I give it 5stars for now, price and firm enough not to dislike it right away I will try to update every 3 months to check on firmness the most important detail to me, If I had to bet, by year 3 is not going to be this firm, so if you are ok with that number go for it, at least all the reviewers are in the same boat as you!

After about a month, I am happy with this mattress. I was honestly about ready to drop $2000 on a Saatva mattress, buy then I saw people on Reddit talking about how even those mattresses can have problems after a few years. If I spend a huge chunk of money on something, I want it to last many years. This mattress is a great price for King size. I don't expect it to last more than a few years, or less, but it's fine for now. The edge support is obviously lacking, it's noticeable when you sit on the edge of the bed. But you are paying for a mattress to sleep on, not something to sit on. I was about ready to get rid of my king size bed set, because king size mattress prices are crazy. I almost bought a Dreamcloud mattress, and I almost bought a Nectar mattress. But everyone says those only last a couple years. So I settled for this. I'm happy I went this route. In a couple years I'll probably upgrade, but I have other priorities with my finances at the moment. I am 6'4" 190lbs and this mattress feels great for me. I would probably be happier if it was more firm, but it's quite comfy and has good support. The setup process was easy, even by myself with a king size. It was delivered early in the morning and it was fine to sleep on it that night. No smells or anything. Update: 16 months later, I am still surprised by the quality for this price ($309 for king). There are some obvious indentations (I'm a 200lb 6'3" side sleeper). It's been just myself using this, and I've switched up sleeping on both sides to increase the life of the mattress. I think I rotated it once. It will probably only last another year, maybe 2, but I do feel like that's good for the price. I never wake up with pain. Still has good support. This mattress would be a particularly fantastic choice for a guest bed that doesn't get frequent use.

Very cozy and firm for back support, opened and inflated easily and quickly, a bit shorter than I expected but I figure I should've gotten a 12" or 14" in that case, affordable and delivered quickly.
