Wife review: I slept in the bed same day I received it, 7 hours later. That side never expanded to the full height. The cover is loose half way down the mattress. This is advertised as a firm mattress. It is not as firm as I expected. The mattress conforms to my body, not sinking like a medium mattress. I was having back pain and achy body in the morning from my 7 year old mattress. From day 1 there is no pain. I am a side sleeper and HOT sleeper. It has been a HOT July so far under this heat dome. This Mattress really sleeps good! We just love it. It has been about a month long deal to get to this point. So let me explain. We ordered this item on 4/14/26 mattress arrived on 4/16. We immediately opened the mattress let it roll out on our bed frame. After the mattress had expanded somewhat we noticed a large lump about the size of a man's fist in the side of the matterss. We immediately contacted the website on the instructions which was the factory to let them know of the issue. We also noticed other areas on that side that wasn't expanding properly. We got a reply next day giving us instructions of the next steps they wanted us do do including pictures. During this time we looped Amazon in to contact the seller also. Most of the remaining conversations was with the seller. They agreed that there was a problem from the factory and they would refund our money once they had proof that the mattress that was shipped was destroyed. I would have thought that the factory would like to pick up the mattress to determine what went wrong at the factory but they didn't want it. Since they wanted the mattress destroyed we deceided to sleep on it anyway till we could get it to the dump. It actually slept pretty good, the damaged side was my side so it felt like I was inching down hill during the night otherwise slept real good. We deceided to see if they would just replace the mattress since we did like the product. Seller agreed, I just had to destroy the mattress & send them proof. I sent that information on 5/2 and Seller immediately shipped a new mattress with an estimated delivery of 5/6, 5/6 went by no mattress. Told Amazon and the seller about the issue & I was unable to track the item once it got to the distribution warehouse. Went out on the truck for delivery but never showed up then the tracking disappeared. The seller even contacted the freight company trying to find it. It appears to be lost in transit even though it weighes 106 lbs and stands about 5 ft tall. With all the bad things that went wrong we were fit to be tied! But the seller jumped in and deceided to ship another matress for us while they delt with the freight company about the lost package. We praised them for their goodness and concerns for us not having a decent bed to sleep on. We had been sleeping on a blow up bed for about 2 weeks. They shipped the new bed on 5/10 & it arrived on 5/13 as promised. We were so thankfull!! We upacked the bed just as soon as it got here letting it expand in the middle of the livingroom floor. Once everything was looking good, We moved it into the bedroom just like a normal mattress to let the expansion process complete itself. Again we are so happy with the new mattress and want to sing praises for the Seller & everything they went thru to make us happy. Amazon also was ready to stand behind the product if they didn't. I would buy this product again & deal with this seller again. Although we were upset during the procsss we were nice to them in they and they were nice to us. For years we had been sleeping on an old inner spring mattress with an inexpensive 4" foam topper. It was VERY SOFT, so much so that getting out of bed was sometimes an issue. Plus I often woke up with shoulder or neck pain. FYI, I'm a side sleeper. And lately, my sleeping's just been lousy. I expect Covid-related anxiety is party to blame. Regardless I decided I wanted a new mattress. I decided on a bed in a box. I got one for both of my kids over the years and they seemed happy. Plus, there are very well reviewed products out there for way less than traditional beds. Lastly, return policies often seemed too good to be true (see more on this below). After spend days reading hundreds of reviews and watching videos, I opted for a Tuft & Needle Mint. It cost about $1K. Easy ordering, arrived promptly, set up easily, and looked great. It was rated "firm." Well, my wife HATED it. Truth be told, she didn't give it a fair try. She kind of said she wouldn't like it before it arrived, said she didn't like it after night 1, and after night 2 said she was up all night with back pain. FWIW, this mattress should have relieved her back pain, not added to it, based on firmness and the fact that she's a back sleeper. Didn't matter. Her mind was made up. It had to go. So I called T&N on day three and they were FANTASTIC. Refunded my purchase price IMMEDIATELY and said I should give it to a local charity or, failing that, give it to a friend, family member, or neighbor in need. The return policy that I thought "too good to be true" turned out to be 100% true. Good on them! I gave it to a family in a neighboring town that lost all of their possessions to a house fire. I ordered the 2.0 via Amazon because it was the more "plush" of the options and because of the literally thousands of positive reviews. Oh, the fact that the price was less than half of the T&N didn't hurt. It arrived in about 8-9 days (my only complaint). Very large box that I once again had to navigate to the second floor. Popped it open and enjoyed watching the inflating process (again). After figuring out which side was front and back we placed it in place and let it "breath" for a couple of hours. With chemical smell to keep me off it, I put a cover and sheet on it and slept on it last night. It's definitely on the plush side. I wouldn't want it any softer. But I actually found it more comfy than the 2x more expensive mattress that preceded it. "They" say soft is good for side and stomach sleepers (which I am) and they appeared correct. I only had one night on it but I'm sure it'll be fine for me. My wife joins me on it tonight and we'll have to see her reaction. Should she not like it I'll just get her a 2" topper for her side to make it softer. You can't see the actual mattress so I can't comment on its looks or fit and finish. The cover isn't at taught as the T&N's cover and the materials not as rich feeling, but it doesn't feel cheap. As a bonus, it come with two "bonus" memory foam pillows and though it did smell a little when I woke up my head was on one of them and not one of my "old" pillows. I can't speak to its return policy and hope I don't have to. But I am comfortable saying (pun intended) that this is a nice, inexpensive option for someone who likes a softer mattress. ... show more

I liked the ease of transport, and set up. The mattress expanded to full height within minutes but I waited the full 72 hours before sleeping on it. I like the initial feel of the mattress support, however it is much firmer than I was led to believe by the advertisement. I like a medium feel but this feels much more firm. There is a comfortable cushiony feel to the first 2-3 inches but under that is very firm. It takes a while to get used to having to lift your body up to move instead of rolling over because of the sinking of the first couple inches. I do have much less pain in my shoulders though. (I am a side sleeper) Also, I ultimately chose this mattress because of the advertised cooling gel properties. I have not found that to be correct. I wake up in the night feeling very warm where my body is on the mattresss, and have to move to the other side to feel cool again. I won't mind so much in the winter because I usually sleep with a heated mattress pad. But I will have to buy yet another bed to use in the summer so I won't get too hot. The pillows which came with it are made of chunks of memory foam. They are ok, but keep my head much too high, so they are used for decoration only. If you like a firm, over filled pillow you will love these. All in all, not a bad bed for the price, but I was hoping to like it more. ... show more

I bought this bed as an alternative to a more expensive option. I had been using a Tuft & Needle queen mattress that my sister had bought a while back and stored for some time and the bed frame I was using broke so I started to consider moving up to get a California King since I had a little extra cash to do so. I got the frame from a popular manufacturer so I decided to invest in a good king mattress and was going to go with the Tuft & Needle because it was what I had used before. The price, though, for 1250.00 (not including tax) was such a steep incline in the spending of funds available for me that I was really weighing every review, wondering if this was the best option. And then, I found Cool Gel! I found this option and somehow managed to snag it for 400.00 (plus some change) and it came with 2 pillows! I had thought I was getting a steal. Until it arrived at my home. The packaging was so lackluster. I first thought that I had gotten a used product because the packaging was so bad (fraying and loose around the edges) And then, I remembered, that each mattress comes pre-rolled, prepackaged so it would be insanely difficult to roll it back up once it has expanded. Once myself and a friend were able to put together the bed frame and then start to unroll the mattress, my heart sank. As you can see from the photo of the mattress itself, I was so concerned because for like 3 hours straight the bed was lopsided and parts of the fabric that stretched were loose, as if it didn't fill inwards. I had never really had a box mattress so wasn't too used to the process of letting it expand. And the pillows it came with might as well have been broken. The material inside was split in half so the pillow would sink as if it was cut in half. I was so concerned I even called the manufacturer of Cool Gel and the operator assured me it would fill out, just don't sit on it or touch it too much at all. The time frame is 72 hours to fill out completely. And, I decided to leave the bed, go to my sister's house and stay over for a little bit and return. I was gone for roughly 7-8 hours and immediately noticed a huge difference. The bed was practically filled out completely. Slowly rising like dough but in reality, filling out quite quickly. I put the bedding on after and decided to lay on it and it was very dreamy. At first, it is a little firm but if you give it a few days it will soften (just like some other reviews have mentioned) and this bed is worth the wait! It is cool, it conforms to your body when you rest on it, and I feel like it becomes more and more comfortable each night. The pillows are also working really well! They finally filled out and fit their cases snugly. In combination with the soft bedding I got in conjunction with this new bed and bed frame I feel like I got lucky. I would say don't pass up this bed. Wait for it to go down in price a little and then snag it. I honestly think it was a great investment, especially for the price I got it at! ... show more

❌❌ DO NOT BUY!! Allow me to share my harrowing experience with this mattress, which has plunged my household into chaos and sleepless nights. It has been a week since its arrival, and not a single member of my family has managed to endure a night's sleep on this abomination. The lack of comfort and support provided by this mattress has led to extreme disruption within our household. With each passing night of restless tossing and turning, tensions have risen, and sleep has become a distant memory. We've resorted to sleeping in separate rooms and even on the couch in a desperate attempt to find a modicum of relief from the agony inflicted by this mattress. Attempting to sleep on this abomination is an exercise in futility and self-flagellation. It's as if the designers set out with the sole purpose of creating the most uncomfortable sleeping surface known to mankind. Every inch of this mattress exudes an aura of malevolence, daring anyone foolish enough to lay upon it to endure unimaginable suffering. Let me be unequivocally clear: this bed is not meant for humans. It is a punishment reserved for the most heinous of criminals, a tool of torture wielded by sadistic overlords. The mere act of reclining upon its surface is an invitation to a descent into madness. Despite our best efforts to rectify the situation, the company has been shockingly unwilling to provide a resolution. Their refusal to issue a refund has left us stranded, unable to order a replacement mattress and trapped in a never-ending cycle of sleep deprivation. I demanded a fund, and they WILL NOT GIVE IT!! This experience has been nothing short of a nightmare, and I implore anyone considering purchasing this mattress, and comapny to heed this warning. The only thing that was a little weird was there was a lot of lint, piece of hair that was wrapped inside the mattress. The vacuum cleaned it right up but was just little questionable.
